| In her first major film role, as stripper Blaze Starr in
Blaze (1989), this leggy young actress more than held her own opposite
veteran Paul Newman. A relative newcomer to the screen, she'd had small
roles in The Big Town and Adventures in Babysitting (both 1987), billed as
Lolita David, before snaring the part of the lusty redhead who seduced a
Louisiana governor. She played Andie MacDowell's friend in The Object of
Beauty (1991) and that same year appeared as an impoverished Russian wife
in The Inner Circle She tried her hand at Hitchcockian thrillers in Brian
De Palma's Raising Cain (1992), and was extremely winning as a small-town
waitress in Leap of Faith the same year. A warm, appealing personality,
Davidovich should be wary of being typecast in best-friend or
floozywith-heart-of-gold roles; she can do that easily if the right
scripts come her way. Recent credits include Keep the Change (1992
telefilm), Boiling Point (1993), Intersection and Cobb (both 1994). |
