I haven't figured out the right technique of scanning photos properly, so the quality of my pictures could be better... Sorry about that! I am trying to figure out how to scan photos properly. However, I also think my scanner is not the best one (never buy Microtek!). The original photos look a lot better, but I think the ones presented here are still not that bad and you should be able to imagine how e.g. the Algarve beach looks like in nature. Anyhow, sooner or later I will buy a digital camera so I won't have the scanning problem anymore. Enjoy the pictures! The download might take some time, so please have some patience...

Special Feature: The Ultimate, (In-)Famous Halloween Picture (adults only!...just kidding!)!!!

New York Ground Zero
New York City Trip, February 2002

It wasn't a very pleasant and fortunate trip for me although New York is my favorite city in the U.S.. On the way there our team got evacuated from Dallas Airpoirt due to a security breach and we got to our destination at 3:30am. The best part, however, was the Broadway Play "Aida" that we got to see and also witnessing the destruction at Ground Zero that was left after 4 months after the incidence of September 11 that shocked the entire Western World. You can see some of the digital pictures here!

NCAA Cross Country 2000
Christmas Break in Arizona 2001/2002

I spent three wonderful weeks in gorgeous Arizona training with NCAA rival Lisa Aguilera (Arizona State). We not only trained together but also went to the Grand Canyon and Las Vegas together. I bought my first digital camera in time for those trips and took 400 digital photos within 1.5 weeks. I am in the process of putting more and more of those on this website... NCAA Cross Country 2000
Media Photos 2000/2001

I had to go to our Ladybacks media staff recently to ask for some good running shots of me because I got several requests from both Europe and the U.S. for autographed photos. Since there are some really good shots, I thought I would scan them as well and put it up on my website for you to see. Click see all of NCAAs Cross Country 2000 or SECs Outdoor/Chile Pepper 1999
I have to warn you because I have my "racing face" on all of the pics, which can look kind of scary sometimes...;-p

SEC XC Championships 2001
SEC Cross Country Championships, October 29th 2001:

Here you can see a couple of photos I shot during the race. I was busy cheering and yelling, so I did not take that many pictures.

Devil's Den State Park
Arkansas - "The Natural State", October 2001:

This quote on our license plates really fits Arkansas' landscape. I recently went with some of my teammates first the first time to a nearby state park named Devil's Den, which is only 30 min. away from Fayetteville. I had been living in Fayetteville for more than 2 years and had never gone there before...what a shame! I did not even realize before what a wonderful area it is where I live. Northwest Arkansas truly has to offer a lot to people who like nature and hiking! You will see a sample of the landscape on my webpage!

Arizona Trip, Spring Break 2001:

This was the first time that our team spent 4 days during spring break in Arizona to compete in the Arizona State Invite and train for the upcoming season. The highlight of the Arizona Trip was a beautiful hike Amy Wiseman and I did up a mountain with a great view over the Phoenix area. Naturally, we took a lot of awesome photos!

Olympic Champions Maurice Greene in action at Texas Relays 2001
Texas and Mt. SAC Relays, April 2001:

We traveled from coast to coast to coast to coast every weekend during the outdoor season. Among those travel destinations were Austin, Texas as well as Walnut (Southern California). The Texas Relays and Mt. SAC Relays are always important meets to qualify for major championships on the Ladybacks' schedule.

Celebrating our victory in the 4x1500m
Penn Relays, April 28th-30th, 2001:

Penn Relays was my best and most exciting meet of the entire outdoor track season 2001: I had the honor to meet the famous Bill Cosby in person and we, the Arkansas Ladybacks, won our second Penn Relays Wheel in school history in the 4x1500m relay. Additionally, I won the 3000m steeplechase the night before.

NCAA Indoor Championships, March 2001:

See this photo of Tracy winning the NCAA Mile title and more photos on fast-women.com! Just like last year, this year's NCAA Indoor Track Championships were hosted by us, the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. Once again, we had a "full house" with more than 5000 fans cheering for not only the Razorbacks. For me personally, the most memorable race was the Women's mile, in which my teammate, training partner, former roommate and friend Tracy Robertson won her only NCAA title. Knowing her and seeing what she experienced in her previous championships, it was unbelievable that she finally showed the nation what she is capable of doing also at the national championship. I had to cry when I saw her running up to her parents (who flew in from Canada to see her) in the stands.
Unfortunately, for me the Championship was a big disappointment: I went into the race as the favorite in the 5000m and co-favorite in the 3000m but eventually struggled to place 10th in the 5000m due to dehydration. Also a stay at the hospital was not enough to get me fit for the 3000m where I dropped out.
Alison Wade from fast-women.com always takes great pictures from all kinds of running events. If you want to see hundreds of photos of the running events at the NCAA Indoor Champs 2001, click here!

Training camp Algarve, Portugal January 2000:

Christmas break 1999 I went back to Germany but started to regret that decision soon after I got to there. The lack of training partners and a coach, and - most importantly - the terrible weather (lots of snow and ice...) were just not good conditions to train. Therefore, I decided to go to training camp with the German T&F Federation. It was awesome!

My hometown in Germany (Stuttgart/Fellbach):

These are some pictures I took during Christmas break 1999 and the summer 2000 back home in Germany.
