I haven't figured out the right technique of scanning photos properly, so the quality of my pictures could be better... Sorry about that! I am trying to figure out how to scan photos properly. However, I also think my scanner is not the best one (never buy Microtek!). The original photos look a lot better, but I think the ones presented here are still not that bad and you should be able to imagine how e.g. the Algarve beach looks like in nature. Anyhow, sooner or later I will buy a digital camera so I won't have the scanning problem anymore. Enjoy the pictures! The download might take some time, so please have some patience...

| I have to warn you because I have my "racing face" on all of the pics, which can look kind of scary sometimes...;-p |

| Just like last year, this year's NCAA Indoor Track Championships were hosted by us, the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. Once again, we had a "full house" with more than 5000 fans cheering for not only the Razorbacks. For me personally, the most memorable race was the Women's mile, in which my teammate, training partner, former roommate and friend Tracy Robertson won her only NCAA title. Knowing her and seeing what she experienced in her previous championships, it was unbelievable that she finally showed the nation what she is capable of doing also at the national championship. I had to cry when I saw her running up to her parents (who flew in from Canada to see her) in the stands. Unfortunately, for me the Championship was a big disappointment: I went into the race as the favorite in the 5000m and co-favorite in the 3000m but eventually struggled to place 10th in the 5000m due to dehydration. Also a stay at the hospital was not enough to get me fit for the 3000m where I dropped out. Alison Wade from fast-women.com always takes great pictures from all kinds of running events. Training camp Algarve, Portugal January 2000:
| Christmas break 1999 I went back to Germany but started to regret that decision soon
after I got to there. The lack of training partners and a coach, and - most importantly -
the terrible weather (lots of snow and ice...) were just not good conditions to train. Therefore, I decided to go to training camp with the German T&F Federation. It was awesome! To see those pictures here and all the other ones I took with descriptions to them, click Algarve Pictures |
