common bait used as they are cheap and effective. A 100g of prawns can cost only

Milk fish are easily
available at most tackle shops and fishing ponds. They cost $4 for 6 and
are replacements for mullets because shopkeepers find it hard to keep

Rag worms or 'sarong'
worms are easily available at most tackle shops at beach road and changi
village. This worms can be also dug up from beaches at the low tide. Fishes caught with worms so far: Sole fish and Sandeels. |

Sandeels a.k.a Pasir Pasir
or Swa Chiam are the most effective bait for sting rays. Its is caught by using
a cast net or fished with tamban rigs baited with worms or prawns. |
