I'm totally in love with anything Ford related.  It all started in 1988 when my parents bought a Mustang GT, and to this day we've always had a sports vehicle.  Notice I say "vehicle" because the sporty vehicle we have now is my 1993 F-150 Lightning.  Basically a Mustang GT with a bed.

The Lightning was introduced in 1993, and since then it has been terrorizing the streets.  It came from the factory with a 5.8L V-8 that put out 245 HP and 340 LB/FT of torque.  It was coupled to a Heavy Duty automatic and a 8.8" rear end equiped with 4.10:1 gears.  It would do 0-60 in around 7 secs and would pass through the traps in the quarter mile in about 15.2 seconds.

Here is part of the 1995 brochure.  My Lightning is the 4232 Lightning built in 1993.  My truck only came with the optional tube rear bumper and receiver hitch. A center jump was offered in 94 and 95 models, whereas the 93's only were available with a center consule.

The truck has since gotten a chopped roof to get it into the 7's.

Mods: 16* timing, 9" K&N Filter, underdrive pullies, bypassed the smog pump, turn downs after the flange(no mufflers). I'm sure it's loud as I ran the same setup for a few monthes, she gets a few looks!
Here's one of my favorite pics.  This is my father(POWERSTROKE on nloc) and me next to the fiercesome two.  His is Dr.Evil and my lightning is MinnyMe.  Both have 3.5" exhaust coming out infront of the passenger rear tire, and no mufflers.  His truck is a '96 F-250 Powerstroke with a 5 speed and 3.55's.  If you think diesels are slow let me take you for a ride in this thing!  It's something else going through town in 5th at 35mph and still being able to snap your neck!  Both trucks have K&N's and FIRESTONE tires.  You can faintly see the Lightning decal in the back window of my truck with is reflective material so it jumps out at night.  Since this picture I have gotten my windows tinted.
Here's a pic of my Lightning, my dad's F-250 and my first car, a '88 Mustang GT with T-Tops and a 5 speed.  I learned to drive on the Mustang as well as wrench on it.  I replaced the oil pump and oil pump driveshaft, as well as did head gaskets on it.  I could have the transmission out in under 30 minutes.  It had a King Cobra clutch, 5" Autometer tach, Phantom Mechanical Oil Pressure and Water Temp gauges, Dynomax exhaust, FMS 1 5/8" stainless headers, off-road H-pipe, no smogpump, shaved heads, K&N, as well as a removed front sway bar, 12" solo-baric, 5x7 MTX speakers, 6.5" Infinity References, 3.5" Infinity Kappa's, Kenwood 7007 CD player, MTX 4120 and 2160 amps.  I also had a Cobra rear bumper cover and Cervini's 4" cowl induction hood which I never installed but was included in the sale.  It was a really sweet ride for a 16 year old, and taught alot of locals about Ford power.  The car was only 1 of 800 Mustang GT's made with T-tops in the model year of '88.  T-tops were only produced in the calendar year of '87, and mine was made in November of '87.
