Hi! Welcome to our page, dedicated to helping lost and unwanted Lhasa apsos and Shih Tzus. I grew up with a Shih Tzu and therefore am very attached to the breed, and was shocked to learn that there is no Shih Tzu rescue group in our area, I knew something had to be done and thats when I started the Lhasa Love, Lhasa Apso & Shih Tzu Rescue. Here at the rescue we are commited to finding homes for these wonderful dogs and give them a second chance with a family that can give them the love and support that they need and so deeply deserve. We do have an application process solely for the safety of our rescued friends, as we don't want to put them back into a bad situation. Whatever the reason, all our pets need good loving homes so if you can provide the time, shelter and love for one of our dogs, please take the time and apply to adopt one of our babies.
We take in what's called "Owner Surrenders". These are dogs whose owners simply cannot care for them any longer. Some elderly or disabled owners go into nursing homes or care centers and cannot care for the dog any longer. Some owners have a new baby in the house, or even a new pet and no longer want the older dog. Some owners move and cannot take the dog with them. Some surrender because they simply are not capable of caring for the dog, emotionally or financially any longer. We accept owner surrenders at no cost to the former owner, as we strive to keep our dogs out of animal shelters and other harmful situations. All dogs surrendered to Lhasa Love Rescue become the property of L.L.R. We insure the privacy of both the surrendering and the adoptive parties and will not divulge the identities of either.
L.L.R. will do our best to gather as much information as we can about each dog and to honestly impart this to potential adoptees, however, we cannot guarentee health or behavior of any dog adopted through us. If you are not satisfied in your new dog we will let you return him, depending on the situation we may let you exchange him, however no refunds will be issued.
