You will notice two distinct styles of photography on my website. The first is that of my dear friend Judy Reinen, and the second is another wonderful photographer who specialises in animal photography, Rachael Hale. I thank Judy and Rachael for allowing me to use their photographs on my website, and would ask that all visitors please respect the copyrights which are in place on all of Judy and Rachael's beautiful works. There is a third (and much more ordinary) style, it's mine of course ... no doubt you will be able to tell the difference in less than a hundredth of a second! If you are interested in seeing more of the wonderful world of Judy Reinen, please visit Judy's website by clicking on any of Judy's photos featured on my website or visit: http://www.judyreinen.com And to visit Rachael's stunning website, please click on any of Rachael's photos featured on my website, or visit: http://www.rachaelhale.com

A self-confessed "chocaholic", my passion is a breeding programme for chocolate and lilac tabby bicolour persians and exotics. Five years ago, I acquired my first chocolate persian, and it's been a slow and sometimes frustrating journey, but I think that the next breeding season will see a great leap forward in both the number of visual chocolate and lilac bicolours, and also the quality of type.

Levanti Lelievre Beau Miracle, blue and white Exotic. Dante's first baby!
Hi, and welcome to Auckland, New Zealand. I'm Kim Mattler and I have a small cattery in Waitakere City.
Levanti Cattery prides itself on house-rearing all kittens until they are old enough to leave home. Although they are breeding animals, the cats are first and foremost loved pets and companions. All kittens leave home desexed, vaccinated, wormed and flea treated. Being house-reared, they are of course, potty trained! Kittens are registered with the New Zealand Cat Fancy. Levanti Cattery tests for PKD (Polycystic Kidney Disease). All testing up until January 2006 has been completed by Dr Chris Warman at the Veterinary Specialist Group, Auckland, New Zealand. Chris is, in my opinion, the best ultra-sound sonographer in New Zealand and his equipment is always the newest and best in the market. His knowledge and skill is second to none. Thanks to the wonderful research work of Dr Leslie Lyons of UC Davis, California in the USA, we now have access to a DNA test for PKD in Persians, Exotics and British Shorthairs. I can happily report that both Levanti Very Vega has tested negative with the DNA test, results received January 2006.
Sadly on 28 August 2004, I had to have my darling Chiara put to sleep, as at 18 1/2 years old, her kidneys finally gave out. I am absolutely heart-broken to be without my special old darling and life will never be the same. I hope that she is chasing butterflies over the Rainbow Bridge and waiting for me to be there with her. Be safe dear one, until we met again.
I have also spent the last ten years working on a similar programme in my British Shorthairs and now have good depth to my chocolate/lilac bicolour programme. In 2005 I decided to start a programme to breed chocolate silver classic tabbies. This is a combination that I can't wait to see ... chocolate, silver and tabby - yum! All in classic pattern of course, which is not going to be easy to achieve, but I need a challenge!!
