The most intriguing aspect of being an artist is the creative process. An ability to produce something constructive and tangible. An ability to plant ideas, nourish and support them through your artwork. Art has an inexhaustible potential to change people’s views and open them up to an array of different thoughts. My artwork gives my life a direction. It became my outlet for ideas and emotions. An artist does not simply copy the world around him, but selectively brings out its certain aspects. I do not try to paint the bare reality of things, but a reality diffracted through my personal experiences. Experiences mold people into who they are, making everyone’s perception individual. To reach each and every individual, your art work has to become personal to a greater degree. Otherwise, it is simply another oil painting, trickery and illusion of paint spread on canvas. I believe that it is difficult to pin point an exact motif or idea behind an art work. For an artist’s experiences and discoveries, that motivate the creative process, are extremely personal. My ideas and areas of concentration are fluid and changeable. Following one idea, I might become interested a particular affect or mistake that leads to another idea. In a way, I experience miniature, personal evolutions. The folds of human flesh and its smooth, lively texture excite me the most. I feel certain rapture or shiver when I pain human flesh and the way it gives and bends when pressure is applied. In the future, I want to concentrate on further exploring human body in my paintings and sculptures.
