The purpose of the LEARNING DISABLITIES ASSOCIATION is to...
- Provide information and referral services.
- Operate a resource centre, offering books, audio-tapes and handout materials, open to all.
- Advocate for persons with LD throughout the Special Education Advisory Committees of the Sault Ste. Marie Board of Education, the Sault Ste. Marie R.C. Separate Board of Education, the Michipicoten Board of Education and other community boards and committees.
- Undertake public awareness activities.
- Provide input to the Learning Disabilities Assocation of Ontario regarding provincial issues.
- Sponsor or develop workshops and presentations for community groups.
- Publish periodic newsletters.
- Hold monthly Board of Directors meetings.
- Operate a parent self-support group with monthly meetings.
- Raise funds to provide these services..
