The Lions
Club of Alice Springs was the first Lions Club formed in the Northern
Territory, Australia, when it was sponsored by the Lions Club of Broken
Hill in 1964. Formation was on the 18th of September 1964.
One
charter member, Lion Keith McEwan, still remains in the club, and it is a
credit to Keith that he was District Governor for 1998/99.
