LA ZINE FIESTA

Welcome to the site of Southern California's most ass kicking zine and diy comics convention, La Zine Fiesta!!! People from all over the west coast come together for this one day event to exhibit, buy, sell, and trade all sorts of independently produced publications! Don't miss out on the alternative media madness!

Below you'll find some information on the event, which will hopefully be of some help. Additional details will be added from time to time, so check back occasionally to see what's up!

You'll find more information on signing up and getting a table to display your stuff on the registration form page. Click the link and you should be able to print out a copy for yourself.

LOCATION

ARTS IN ACTION

1919 7th Street, 4th Floor, Los Angeles CA

Arts In Action is a collective that puts on various workshops and classes, hosts punk shows and acts as an artists gallery. It's located in a culturally rich Hispanic neighborhood. Nearby is MacArthur Park, with a pond, street vendors and plenty of grass to relax on. To the east is the downtown Los Angeles area, where you'll find the Staples Center, the Central Library, Chinatown, and Little Tokyo to name a few of the many attractions in the area.

DIRECTIONS

If you're in the city it's highly suggested that you utilize the subway. There's a stop literally right around the corner from the space we're using for this year's Fiesta. It's the Westlake/MacArthur Park stop on the Red Line. A one way ticket costs $1.25. An all day pass is $3. It includes transfers to other lines and you can get on and off all you want all damn day. Check out http://www.mta.net for more info.

If you're on the 101, exit to Alvarado, head south and turn left on to 7th.

If you're traveling on the 110...get off the 110. Seriously though, if you heading North on 110 your best bet would probably be to exit on to 9th, head left on Figuero and then left on to 7th, heading west (street numbers ascending). If you're going South on the 110, get off at the 8th St exit, proceed to Alvarado (about a half mile) and turn right, and then your very next right on to 7th.

If you're on the 10 you can take it to the 110 and use the directions above. But if you want to be stubborn about it, I believe you can exit on to Hoover from the 10 (don't quote me on that) and head north, veering right on to Alvarado until you get to 7th, where you'll take a right.

A map of downtown Los Angeles would come in mighty handy if you don't know the area. The location of the Fiesta, 1919 7th St. is just to the west of downtown, but still, it would probably help.

FOOD & ACCOMMODATIONS
There are a few restaurants in the area, but not a lot, and none that are terribly appealing.
