Attention! Attention! Attention! Attention! Attention! Geocities has decided to discontinue hosting web sites such as this one. The notice available at sign-in stated this would take place this summer. As sad as that is for those of us who have used this service, it does allow time to plan an alternative. During the past few weeks we have prepared another "home" at http://larue463.blogspot.com/ . As long as we are able to update the Geocities site we will, but we plan on using the BlogSpot site exclusively by the summer break. Don't forget to change your bookmark for our page! Thanks for keeping us company on the journey. John Mathew, Secretary Attention! Attention! Attention! Attention! Attention! _____________________________________________________________________ As we make the turn from winter, through spring, and into summer, it felt good to get out of the house for our last meeting. Some communications merit attention. - There is now available an official Masonic ring from the Grand Lodge. Versions are also available designating Past Masters, and start at $313.95. Contact the Lodge Secretary for ordering information. - The inspection report from DDGM Goff has been received and noted. - Instructional materials are now available for candidate mentoring, the Second Section of the MM degree, and Ritual Ruberics Instructions. Contact the Lodge Secretary for additional informaion. _____________________________________________________________________ Inspection! Inspection! Inspection! Inspection! Inspection! OK, it's past by now, but it was a pleasant evening. The EA degree was displayed for the benefit of RWB W. Ned Goff, DDGM of the 15th Masonic District. Favorable comments were received on all aspects of the evening: dinner (lasagna!); degree work; apron presentation; lecture; and charge. If you weren't there, you should have been. ______________________________________________________________________ Our open house is now history. There was no parade (maybe next year?), but there were activities aplenty. Jim Anderson, local historian, provided a display of area history. Items and accounts were available detailing LaRue's professional football team, which featured Jim Thorpe. Local businesses were featured, including Lingo's, McMahan's Restaurant, and the Opera House. And since LaRue is synonymous with floods in the Columbus media, photos and accounts of "The Big One" from 1913 were in evidence. Others chose to enjoy the DVD "Unveiling the Masonic Symbolism of Washington, D.C.", as well as the video provided by the Scottish Rite. For the non-Masons in attendance, each provided opportunities to explore Freemasonry and LaRue Lodge's place in local history. ______________________________________________________________________ Dates to remember: June 3, 2009. RWB Ned Goff, DDGM, will be presenting a special Lodge Education Report and Program for our membership. He promises a fun evening, so be sure to attend. June 13, 2009. Grand Master's One Day Class. This will be held at the Richwood Masonic Center. Registration at 6:30am, program starting at 8am. Lunch will be pizza, with the program concluding by 2:45pm. June 14, 2009. Ohio Masonic Home Day in Springfield. June 26, 2009. Special Olympics Opening Ceremony. June 28, 2009. OES Cornerstone Laying, at Mt. Vernon, Ohio. August 12, 2009. Deputy Grand Master's Rollout Program, to be held at Latham Lodge #154, Kenton, Ohio, at 7pm. October 16-17, 2009. 200th Grand Lodge Communication, Toledo, Ohio. Additional activities will be posted as they become available. ______________________________________________________________________ We remind you to visit the web site for the 15th Masonic District: http://district15.freemason.com .
