Cumann na mBan Cumann na mBann was a group of volunteers made up of Irish Catholic women. These women played a critical role in the rebellion against the English Army. The women were not only cooks and nurses, but were able to clean, load and shoot weapons. The women of Cumann na mBan held important leadership positions in the 1916 Rebellion. The Daughters of Ireland were the eyes and ears during the events of the early 1900's. These once mediocre women became glorified in a contemporary era in Irish History. *info provided by our Past President Ree Amrhein New members are always welcome.
