As the Thai and Lao public have shown great interest in the book, but are scared by the price, I hope to be able to write a special edition aimed at this target group in 2004:
Thai-Isan-Lao Phrasebook without phonetics
     And without CD. But
with explanations in English, Thai and Lao on how to determine the tone of a given word linguistically correct.
The author is presently looking for sponsorship for such an edition. If sold for a non-profit price around 200-300 bath, the local public could afford buying it. Proposals for sponsorship are warmly wellcomed!
It must be emphasized that neither of the books are textbooks for learning English! And there will be no phonetics in Thai or Lao letters to the English text. If there should be phonetics to English, IPA should be used, as the Thai and Lao alphabets are not suitable to fully describe the English language.
