Welcome to the wonderful town of Lafayette, California.  If you're new to the area, let us help you speed up the transition process into your new home town.  It's exciting to move to a new place, but many people find it hard to make friends, find out where everything is, and to get past that lonely feeling of being "new." Instead, let the friendly folks at the Lafayette Newcomers Club help you get settled into this great community of ours. Some of us are brand new to Lafayette ourselves, and some of us have been here five years or more.  But all of us cherish the support and friendship that we've found in the Lafayette Newcomers Club.

The Lafayette Newcomers Club is primarily a social organization with a variety of activities. We invite you to our events so that you and your family can have fun and meet new people while you get settled. Feel free to attend one or two activities before joining. Please give us a call to receive our most recent newsletter at 925-974-9360 or e-mail bontemps@attbi.com.

We look forward to getting to know you!

ACTIVITIES:

Coffees
Coffees are an excellent opportunity for potential members to meet other Newcomers and learn more about the club. Coffees are held monthly in member's homes and refreshments are served. Some of the coffees are held at "kid friendly" homes for those who have young children. Coffees are non-RSVP, drop in events.

Game Night
Held every other month, these are fun-filled weekend nights where members try their hand at many different games, including bowling, croquet, and board and dice games. No experience necessary. Occasionally, teens or school age children are invited.

Mom 'n' Tots
Meets once a month so the children can play while the moms get to know each other. We have local outings to parks, museums or the zoo, plus play groups at member's homes, often including special holiday themes and celebrations. Occasionally, the entire family is invited to a weekend activity.

Ladies Night Out
Escape your routine for an evening and enjoy a fun weeknight out with friends. We go to movies, plays, restaurants, hear interesting speakers, paint pottery, etc.

Dining In
Every other month, Newcomers meet for a casual dinner, cocktail, wine tasting or dessert party at a member's home. The parties are either catered or potluck.

Dining Out
On alternate months, we meet for dinner at a local restaurant. Both our Dining In and Dining Out activities are a great way for spouses to get involved in the organization.

Book Club
Our monthly book club offers a casual and friendly approach to discussing a wide range of books. It always makes for interesting and entertaining evenings of conversation and discussions.

Sports/Fitness
Whether it's walking, biking, tennis, golf or a myriad of other activities, we have members with similar interests and we'd be happy to match you up with them.
