William R. (Bob) Williams age 64, passed away Tuesday June 22, 2004 in Casper,WY after a long battle with heart trouble and arthritis.

Memorial services will be conducted at 10 am Saturday July 10, 2004 at a local park (TBD) and in Newcastle, Wyoming on Saturday, July 24,2004.

William R. Williams "Bob" was born April 15, 1940 in Newcastle, Wyoming. Son of the late William Jasper Williams and the late Ethel Ellen MacIntosh Williams. He was born, raised and schooled in Newcastle,WY, graduating with the Class of 1958. He married his high school sweetheart (Dorothy) just after graduation and had two children. After three years, they were divorced. Then, on June 20, 1963 he married his lifelong mate Janice Yvonne Smith in Timberlake, South Dakota. He had lost his two daughters in the divorce, however, he gained a son and a daughter in his marriage to Janice. They moved to Casper,WY in 1970.

Bob was in the Air force for four years. He worked for Schlumberger Oil Well Services for thirty years as the Division Electronics Technician for the entire Rocky Mountain Region. In the 1980's he invented many new down-hole tools that helped Schlumberger be the leader in oil-well exploration and production. He turned down a very lucrative offer to move to France to continue inventing for the company, to stay with his family in Wyoming in order to continue his hunting and fishing way of life. He was a member of the Masonic lodge in Newcastle.

Bob loved to hunt and fish with family and friends. He also liked boating and camping. In his last years he enjoyed snorkelling at the club. From very early in life Bob was an avid reader and probably read a million books over his lifetime.

In the 1990's he became a moderator of a world-wide help line on the internet for people interested in kombucha (KT), a home brewed tea ferment that has medicinal properties. KT helped his arthritis for many years and he wanted to share that with everyone he possibly could.

In addition to his mother and father, he was preceded in death by two of his sisters and his brother.

Survivors include wife Janice, son David, daughters May, Pam, Esther, and Sandy and all their spouses, and his sister Virginia. Other survivors include fifteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren, lots of cousins, nieces and nephews. Condolences may be sent to:

TOO SOON GONE,NEVER FORGOTTEN

The years we had you online,

They somehow seem too few,

Every e-mail treasured,

Your heart making sure we knew.

The moment quickly passing,

You reached out and touched our souls,

The rewards we can only measure,

In how you helped us reach our goals,

You helped to spread the message

To guide us to better health

No king's ransom or treasure

Could be of greater wealth

For us you were the teacher

lessons learned through out the years

the knowledge that will linger

and never disappears

The words that you have written

while you were in your fight

will live on for us daily

as you bathe in heaven's light

AN ODE TO BOB

'tis just a simple little ode
to a Kombucha hero
who read amazing piles of books
with 1 plus many a zero,
and caught wild game and netted fish
for his fine Lady in a dish
Oh how sincerely I do wish
that I had known him better.

On Wed.....June 23,2004... Beverly Ferguson informed the list that Bob had passed away.

EveryOne, Bob Williams has been the Owner-Moderator of the Kombucha Mailing list on Topica.com for several years. He helped Colleen Allen with the list maintenance and then became list Owner himself. A few months ago, as you know, he asked me to join him as list Co-Owner and Moderator. At that time he also turned over the complete Kombucha Center and FAQ files to me. Today I received a letter from Sandy, Bob's daughter, informing me that he passed away yesterday June 22, 2004. Please remember Bob and his family in your thoughts and prayers. God Bless You Bob for all the service you have given so selflessly to the Kombucha Community! We raise our glasses of KT to you:-)) Peace, Love and Harmony, Bev
