Labradoodles have been bred since the early 1970's as non-shedding guide dogs, the result of the cross was an easy to train, loyal, loving companion. Because of their unique coats, Labradoodles usually have no body odor. They do not require the extensive grooming that a poodle does. And are ideal for allergy and asthma sufferers. Labradoodles can have 3 types of coats. The WOOLY COAT, somewhat like a poodle which requires regular grooming, is non-shedding and allergy and asthma friendly. The FLEECE COAT, The ultimate coat that is easy to maintain, non-shedding, allergy and asthma friendly and somewhat like that of an Angora Goat. The HAIR COAT, which is anything from flat and straight to curls or wavy. They may or may not shed.
THERE IS NO GUARENTEE THAT LABRADOODLES WILL NOT SHED. THERE IS NO GUARENTEE THE TYPE OF COAT THEY WILL HAVE. First generations usually have a coat somewhere between that of the LAB and POODLE. F1B puppies are 3/4 poodle and 1/4 lab, they have the same wonderful personalites but have a wavy coat that requires grooming only a few times a year.
