Historical Written Family Facts: However, not all the broom-makers were written down, it was probably a chore, a lively hood or for some reason or another.  Not all prior to those listed below have been documented as of date.

Broom-makers Generation One:
William Jasper Hawkins and Elizabeth Smith Hawkins:  Jasper "Billy was a farmer, furniture maker and fine chair caner.  His high quality craftsmanship was sought by many throughout the surrounding counties.  In one family recored, it is stated that he was also a broom-maker and basket maker, however, due to the historical time line, Elizabeth and one or more of their 12 children more than likely made the brooms and baskets.

Broom-makers Generation Two:
Mary Jane Morris Hawkins (Grayson and Hart Counties) daughter-in-law to Willam and Elizabeth Hawkins.  Her brother John Robert Morris made her broom binder (he was blind).

Broom-makers Generation Three:
Lee (Son of Mary Jane Morris Hawkins) and Pauline Peebles Hawkins (Hart County).  Their broom binder was made by John Robert Morris.

Broom-makers Generation Four:
Brother Winford Smith (Hart County) (Nephew of Lee Hawkins and Grandson of Mary Jane Morris Hawkins.) His binder was made from memory and an old photograph of his grandmother.

Broom-makers Generation Five:
Nadine Smith Vincent (Edmondson County) Daugher of Brother Winford Smith.
Her binder was made by her husband Ben Vincent, replicated from Brother Winford Smith's binder.

Broom-makers Generation Six:
Donna J. Williams (Henry County, formerly of Grayson and Hart) Granddaughter of Brother Winford Smith. 

Broom-makers Generation Seven:
Daniel Williams (Woodford County) son of Donna J. Williams, Great Grandson of Brother Winford Smith.
