Kansas State University Disc Golf

News, Sep 30 2002:

There is a 28-hole disc-golf course on the KSU campus in Manhattan. This course was the largest one in Kansas, at the time it was created (2002), however the design makes it easy to play 12, 18 or 28 holes.

Each hole is par 3 for simplicity. Course par is 28 x 3 = 84.

This course was designed to solve the problems of playing on a college campus. Many new grassy areas have been used for holes where there is no pedestrian traffic, however, it is recommended that play start after 3:00 p.m. on a school day.

This 28-hole course contains a lot of variety in type of throw and hole length to appeal to beginners as well as advanced players. Playing the course also gives you a tour of the most beautiful areas of the campus.

All tees are on concrete and marked with a special symbol. Most are on a sidewalk. The targets are trees on all holes except for hole #10 which has a lightpost for the target.

Currently, the trees are not marked, so someone will have to show you the course your first time out. You might want to send an email to me paulbmann@yahoo.com.
