It quoted an instructor at a college as saying that the terrorist attacks were justifiable acts weaker people can resort to and alleged that he praised the courage of those who sacrificed their lives for their cause.

But Americans would have to look into the rear side of their tragedy. They would have to try to understand why this man [Bin Laden] whose head is priced for shepherding terrorists is hailed as a hero in much of the other side of the world. Leaders in Washington as well as the American public should realize that, in spite of the enormity of their disaster, they must try to address the roots of their hatred instead of setting the stage for repeated bloodbaths. 'Dirty war' and era of barbarism  The Hankyoreh This indicates Washington would not mind employing methods almost equally immoral and illegal to terrorism in their style and substance under the cause of rooting out terrorism. A number of innocent U.S. citizens were killed by the recent terrorist acts. But the war against terrorism must not result in merciless killings of equally innocent citizens of Afghanistan. Aren't these people - whether they are Americans or Afghans - the same humans with equal life values? (9/17/2001)
