WELCOME TO
KING'S MEADS
I HAVE JUST BEEN INFORMED THAT GEOCITIES ARE CLOSING ALL THEIR WEBSITES LATER THIS YEAR.

THEREFORE, THIS SITE WILL NO LONGER BE UPDATED.
2008 Report Now Available - Click On Annual Reports
Situated between Hertford and Ware, King's Meads is the largest remaining grazed riverside flood meadow in Hertfordshire. The combination of ditches, floodwater and regular grazing has created a rich wetland habitat that is excellent for a wide range of flora and fauna.

King's Meads is managed by Herts and Middx Wildlife Trust (HMWT) on behalf of the various landowners, principally Thames Water, GlaxoSmithKline and East Herts District Council.

The objective of this website is to raise the awareness of the importance of the site for flora and fauna and, by building up a database of biological records for the site, to monitor the effectiveness of the site Management Plan and to inform future updates.

The database can be viewed on a chronological basis through the Annual Reports or by taxonomic groups by accessing the Biological Record Data Base.

I hope you enjoy your tour of the website and trust you will follow it up with a visit to King's Meads to experience the wide variety of wildlife present there throughout the seasons.
