The 7th annual “2009 Spring Fling at King” Memorial Day weekend, May XX-XX 2009, is our way of welcoming the flying season and introducing you to another great year with the KMG Store.  Participants must register at KMG Store.  Pilots meeting 9:00am every morning.  These guidelines apply to paragliding pilots, hang gliding pilots, drivers, and guest who have registered and/or participate in the “2009 Spring Fling at King.” Participants must follow these guidelines for eligibility of each prize category.  Participants’ paperwork (sign up at the KMG Store) MUST be completed before any accumulation of points.  Incomplete registration could result in disqualification.

Open XC: Each glider type, i.e., hang glider or paraglider has open XC.   Scoring will be based on actual miles flown, straight-line distance.  1 mile = 1 point.  No handicap at this time.  All flights submitted for Open XC must end before official sunset.  Farthest flight wins.  The Event Director (Alan Paylor) will have final authority if any disputes arise.

Longest Flight Duration: Any glider category can win this event.  Pilot must launch after official sunrise from King Mountain and land before official sunset.  Longest flight wins.  Event Director has final authority over all disputes.

Score Sheets: Pilots will receive several sheets during registration and blank score sheets will be available near the main KMG Store front door.  Score sheets must be turned in at the end of each day.

Entry Donations: Each participant should contribute a registration donation of $25.00.  This donation entitles each participant to: one all you can eat dinner, awards/prizes, plus all the fun one could possibly stand.  Drivers pay only $10.00 and each additional individual or guest pays $15.00 for dinner only. The $10.00 for dinner will not be added to the Cash Awards total.
Awards/Prizes: 1st place, both PG/HG guaranteed!!  Plus, one half (1/2) of your donation ($10.00) is rolled over in to monetary awards for winning categories awarded by Event Director. Remember, Event Director may combine event categories at anytime.  That’s right, basically cash for flying and having fun!  The monetary value of each category will be determined by number of entry fees paid, then divided by each awarded category as deemed appropriate by the Event Director.

Dinner: Enough food for everyone!  Dinner menu TBA.  You bet it'll be great, remember the previous years, i.e. pit roasted pig, local made brats, steak, and buffalo burgers!  Saturday night 8:00pm at the KMG Store.  RSVP Mandatory, you must pay up front!

Launch window: We are all courteous and safety conscious pilots, right?  Therefore, no restrictions at launch at this time.

Dogs and other pets: These mammals are your responsibility.  Be very considerate of other people’s equipment and situations around the KMG Store, launch sites, and the Moore City Park.  We ask you to pay special attention to the launch areas.  Pick up bags are available for visiting dogs.

Fly far, be safe, take your time, and enjoy the Big Lost River Valley.  Safety and respect to others guarantee a rewarding experience.  The “
2009 Spring Fling at King” Guidelines may change in part or whole at anytime as deemed appropriate by the Event Director.
