Thank you to my mom and dad!  They have been so unbelievably supportive.  I'm so lucky to have such wonderful parents.

Thank you to all my wonderful friends who have been so understanding of how busy I've been .  Thank you for your patience, understanding and your willingness to help me!

I hope all of you will have a chance to visit me soon.

A lot of you have been asking me what I need and to register.  So, I went ahead and setup a couple online.

Here is a high-level diary of what I've been up to lately, for those I haven't talked to recently....

  • 6/30th - Signed off on house and closed.  Yes, my wrist still hurts.  ;)

  • 7/1 - House cleaning day.  Scrubbed driveway, front porch, and covered patio with a concrete cleaner and broom.  Wiped all the floors, countertops, and cabinets.  Watering my new sod non-stop.

  • 7/2 - Big shopping day!  Back and forth between BX and PX.  Bought big items:  TV, bedroom set, TV stand, washer, dryer, lawn mower, refrigerator, vacuum, etc...  Bought some small and needed items too.  Planned it out where I would buy big items when they had a Whirlpool special and 10% off all my purchases (on top of not being charged an 8% sales tax).  I was really lucky that day and got a lot of good deals on the things I planned on buying.

  • 7/3 - More shopping at Lowes and Home Depot.  I didn't realize how cool Lowes can be.

  • 7/4 - Bought water softener, blinds, grass plugs, and garage door opener.  Was able to fit it all in my car, thanks to the helpful guys at Lowes.  Was surprised and happy to find that Lowes also had a 10% off military discount for the 4th of July weekend!  My neighbors, who are great, had a 4th of July block party.  Met all my neighbors in the cul-de-sac and in neighboring cul-de-sacs.

  • 7/5 - Bought more grass plugs.  Started laying plugs with a lot of  help from my family.  Very hot day!

  • 7/6 - Finished laying grass plugs.  Whoooo!

  • 7/7 - Sofa delivered.  It is beautiful!  Garage door opener installed.  Vacuumed around the house and fumigated the house.  Where is the rain!!!!  102 degrees today.  Been watering my grass like crazy.

  • 7/8 - Shopping...Bought bunch of stuff and 50 ft hoses for $5 each.

  • 7/9 & 7/10 - Installed all the blinds with the help of my dad.

  • 7/11 - My neighbor owns a plumbing company and offered to install my water softener for me.  All my neighbors are great people and seem to really look out for each other.  Grandma bought me a beautiful new microwave and coffee maker.

  • 7/12 - Washed then painted concrete sealant on driveway and garage floors.

  • 7/14 - Washer, dryer and refrigerator are here!  Put together my TV stand and leather office chair.

  • 7/16 - Satellite installed for my TV.  Grocery shopping.

I saw the cutest thing while I was doing some yard work:

When I saw this I thought...If this little boy can mow the lawn, so can I.  At one point he actually had his foot on the mower trying to push it up a slight hill.  It was the first time he mowed the lawn, his dad stepped in since he couldn't push it up the hill.  It was the cutest!

Here are some pics of the inside of my house:

Big kitchen.  I also have a lovely box window on the right side.

My new sofa and TV.  Notice the blinds too.

My huge covered patio.

Family room and dining room.
You can see the kitchen overlooking the family room to the left.
