Briton Ferry is situated 2 miles outside Neath and 7 miles from swansea, Perhaps it is most famous for its two bridges that span the river Neath one for the M4 motorway and the other for the A48, the town at one time was  very busy. With different types of industry and port, in the 19th century its dock was designed and built by Isabard kingdom Brunel, Which opened in 1861 The river is still used for shipping especially the wharf in briton ferry (which was the place  T H Wards who used to dismantle all kind of ships,
