Classifying Cryptids
Because of the high number of cryptid sightings, I have come up with a distinct way of classifying them into different groups, but this is not at all official or scientific. Simply put, this is my own personal way, which others may use with permission, of placing cryptids into six different categories according to location, body structure, and origin. Michael Crowling
PH class cryptids This class of cryptids will be the Prehistoric survivors. Such will be the dinosaur-like cryptids as well as others thought to have died out between several million and several thousand years ago.
SLM class cryptids This class of cryptids will include all Sea and Lake Monsters. The cryptids who spend most or all of their time in the water shall be placed into this category.
HM class cryptids This class of cryptids shall be the Homonid, or ape-like cryptids. Basically, the wildmen of the world and any bipedal human-like creature.
AE class cryptids This class of cryptids will include all Aerial types including pterosaurs and the thunderbirds. All cryptids known to have wings are included
UKO class cryptids This class of cryptids will be for the cryptids of UnKnown Origin. Cryptids of this class shall include those cryptids which have no information as to where they are from originally.
OT class cryptids This class of cryptids will be for all other types of cryptids, such as creatures recently extinct, but may still be surviving. Also included will be the cryptids which may be animals of large size. Also included will be the extremely discolored animals which could be thought as new species.
