Learn to Read
Ms.. Denise Mulligan, AWB
Entering elementary school is a big step for children.  It is a       crucial stage in their lives when important academic skills should  be learned. Reading is the single most important thing a child        needs to learn.  Success depends upon the ability to read.             Children need experiences to connect them personally with           books.  From these experiences, they discover that reading is an   enjoyable experience.
Reading has many purposes—to get information, to explore     ideas, to learn about others, to see other places.  Teaching    reading involves helping children learn strategies so they will   understand the meaning of written words.  When children see   themselves as “readers” they are motivated to read and to    develop the skills and strategies they need to be good readers.
I hope that all our students will develop a love for reading and   become lifelong reader!
