Slave's Log: Day ?
Kamir's babbling about mutiny again. I admit he makes a strong case, even if he's suffering from permanent sea-madness. I swear if Dallen or Gruffyn kick me again, it's esplody time for their brains. I'm so sick of hiding in my wolf form. I better make this quick before I'm caught.
Navigator's Log: Day 1
Well, that wen't well... I think. Today we succucessfully defeated Captain Gryffn. It was a little scary when Gruffyn had the crew surround us. I guess Kamir's heartfelt speech felt on deaf or cowardly ears. Actually, if it hadn't been for the mop-guy, Yama, things might have looked grim for us. I had no idea he was so skilled with a quarterstaff. He made quick work of Hadur and retieved all the loot from Gryffn's ship before it burnt down (I'm pretty sure he's the one who set it on fire).
Navigator's Log: Day 7
We have a boat.. Well soon. Kamir found some guys to build our boat. It took Uvaer, Meryl and myself over a week to convince Kamir NOT to name it 'Princess Firebush'. He's got a wierd obession with that...
We also hired some crewmembers; Barrack (we rescued him from some goblin pirates while still on Gryffn's ship), Tira, and Bob & Nob. Bob & Nob are gnomish shipwrights and they promise our ship will be impressive. We also have a 'Mascot', a talking owl by the name of Gufo who claims to be a familiar of one of the disciples of Savrano. I wouldn't know exactly who those guys where but he seems on the level (plus he can pickpocket which is impressive, we could use that).
Navigator's Log: Day 8
Meryl and I commissioned our flag. After settling on 'Thunderfist' for the ship's name, I sketched out a flag idea. It's going to be a fist punching through a thundercloud surrounded by lightnening. It'll look awesome.
Navigator's Log: Day ?
We have our ship! I can't wait to get out to see and do some navigating (and not getting beat for it too).
Navigator's Log: Day ?
Taylor Kanar, a strange young man, has joined the crew. Kamir apparently agreed to let him be in the crew without question. Taylor seems a bit perverse... I could tell he was eyeing me like something to be won. I'll have to keep him away from Meryl. I'm sure Tira can handle herself. She's very capable and a crack-shot with a bow and arrows.
Navigator's Log: Day ?
Something tells me there's more to Taylor than he's letting on. A ship without sails pulled up next to us and asked if we had Taylor on board. I didn't say anything and Kamir admitted to meeting him but claimed he was still in town last we had seen. These strange men, although not psionic, were far beyond the scope of our skills. I was glad that Kamir didn't think to challenge them. They creeped me out!
I don't know how Taylor did it, but the 'desert man' couldnt scry or detect his presense on the boat. I hope they don't come back and realize they've been had.
Navigator's Log: Day ?
We finally arrived at a new port. We figured we could find some work or leads on treasure so we can buy more food and other supplies. We ended up looking for a church's relic in a sunken ship. On the way we were attacked by a creature that sort of looked like a kraken.
Navigator's Log: Day ?
While in town, I was robbed by some kid. Too bad he picked a werewolf to rob, because I tracked him down and made him give me my money back. "The Bercilak" as he calls himself, has a lot of spunk and I admired that. He and I ran through town when we heard Tira was in danger.
Tira had been depressed when we got into port, but I didn't want to impose and ask why. She sought Taylor's 'services' and had retreated to an inn room with a nymph. It seems that Taylor is an interplanar pimp of sorts. I dare not ask why. In any case, some assassin from the Cult of Zaim killed Tira and if it had not been for our quick acting and Taylor's donation of his day's profits, the church would not have raised her in time. She's still very sick and has to stay in bed, but the Bercilak has offered his services as a look-out and a sharpshooter. I can atest to his skills. He was a crack-shot with his slingshot while riding on my back as I ran through town in wolf-form.
Navigator's Log: Day ?
The Bercilak has a map to some hidden treasure. Kamir is game for it. We arrived at its location and it looked like a giant dragon skull! After making our way in, we began to explore. Farther in, there was this weird dust that sparkled like blue topaz. I realized that if I breathed in that stuff, my ability to use psionic energy would be hampered. I had to use my headband as a mask so I wouldn't breathe any in. Uvaer decided to collect some of it, much to my annoyance.
We came across some treasure and in his excitement, Kamir ran forward to grab it, activating some magical runes... Summoning some golems... covered in ooze. It was a damn miracle we survived that. I hope Kamir learns the importance of not running blindly forward. In other news, I found ancient writings and some of them talk about making gunpowder! Better keep that away from Kamir.
When we got into the final level of the caverns, we were attacked by some golems covered in slime. I was the only one who could understand them, but they said "For Glim" and attacked. The golems proved to be too hard and Kamir commanded me and Barrack to run while he held the golems off after they killed Meryl and Uvaer. We managed to get back to the boat and I had to beg/threaten Bob and Nob into staying and get Taylor to come back and help me rescue Kamir and the others. I have been through so much with them that I couldn't bear the thought of leaving them to die or rot as the case may be. I know they would do what they could to save me if I was in danger. Luckily, Taylor agreed to help and we managed to destroy the golems and retrieve everyone's remains... although there wasn't much. Of course, we grabbed the treasure. Raising the dead isnŐt cheap. I better get back to navigating the boat. I want my friends back ASAP.
Navigator's Log: Day ?
Well, cross Uvaer off my friend's list. Once that bastard was raised, he declared he was going to go look for this Glim fellow and join forces. And he took that stupid dust with him! God, why didn't I think to take that off his godforsaken, spell-warped corpse?! Anyways, we have a lot of recouping to do and I think the momentary death affected Kamir for the worse... he stole one of the gnomes' socks and has made 'Commodore Biggles', insisting that my nickname for him was actually the puppet.... I keep wondering why I let him be captain. Oh well. Kamir also believes we need a brewer so we can make beer runs and traffick booze on the high seas. He also claims to be on a holy mission from Bakos.
Navigator's Log: Day ?
I met some powerful (and nice) psions this week. The first was an odd, blue Goblin Shaper. He was selling pottery formed from ectoplasm. They're unbreakable. I suggested to Kamir we purchase some for storage. I also requested my own personal container for my room. It was fun to demonstrate to Kamir that the pottery was unbreakable (I don't think his skull agreed, though. Later, I saw a strange man snooping around the ship and I followed them in wolf form to a warehouse. I overheard him and another man talking about the Cult of Zaim, but before I could listen to them anymore, I was captured by some bandits! They didn't like my smartass attitude and took me to their leader. Seems the local rogues are run by an Unbodied named Cadmus. He took a liking to me as we are both Kineticists. He taught me a new energy power. I was grateful and he gave me a coin as a badge to show I wasn't to be harmed by any of his men. Such a nice guy.
Navigator's Log: Day ?
As we were leaving port, the Marines approached us and told us we were under arrest. They had blocked off the exit to the harbor. Commodore Clarence Quartermain... whom I have decided next we meet to call 'Clarice' and make various remarks questioning his sexual preferences. :D
In any case, we defeated him and his cronies and with the help of Calie, we flew past the marine's ships at 60mph for a good hour or so until I had exhausted my powers for the day and we were sure we had lost them.
We figured that if we pushed ourselves to our limits and I controlled the wind when needed, we could get to our destination in 3 months instead of 6.
Navigator's Log: Day ?
Nothing going on other than Kamir dancing non-stop.
Navigator's Log: Day Ylenia needs a calendar
We ran into the Pirates of the Wolfpack... Oddly enough run by a werepanther named Jerris. He's cute but a bit rough around the edges. We Kamir asked convinced forced him to join our crew after we killed his... I guess chugging 6 kegs of ale would make anyone loose their spirit and cave into Kamir's demands.
Navigator's Log: Day ?
Efforts to flirt with Jerris have been tentative at best. Unfortunately, Meryl has the hots for him too. I'll have to use my wolf cunning to beat her to him. :D
We finally made it to land! I swear I am going to find the largest cow and eat it while it moos. Jerris seems interested in joining me in a raw steak dinner.
Soon as we landed and escorted Lady Jeane to the church, we heard that Yama was in town. Tira and Kamir ran off to look for him. Of course we all followed them. It seems that Yama was around during the Sundering and the Bercilak revealed that what we think is an ocean is more or less a giant caldera. We cannot explore the rest of the world until we can figure out how to make our ship fly.
Navigator's Log: Day ?
After having some fun messing with Kamir's deranged mind (new shape-shifting powers are fun!),We decided to go north with Barrack, Taylor and Callie to sell booze to the dry towns. On the way, we were attacked by some humanoid ants and large stag beetle humanoid. While we were initially knocked out, we came to and fought back, killing the ant-people and disabling the beetle-man.
Andrade was once a famous pirate hunter, but it seemed that he and the others had fell victim to sorcerers' experiments, becoming Verminthrope. Once Andrade had calmed down, I beseeched Kamir and the others that we help him. I've always felt a bit of pity towards those who do not choose the path of lycanthropy (or in this case, Verminthropy). Kamir relented and Andrade agreed to help us.
Before we could leave town, the ghost of Hadur appeared and demanded to fight Kamir. That cowardly nutjob hid behind me and a tree, leaving Meryl and I to defeat the spectre. I hope that's the last we see of his spirit. He seemed satisfied with the battle and departed.
Sadly, as we made our way north, Uvaer attacked. We hurled taunts at each other and Darius appeared via an illusion spell. He mocked us and Uvaer struck down Gufo. While Gufo was finally freed from his cursed form of an owl, he was mortally wounded and perished. Of course, Uvaer the sell-out king left us to our mourning and challenged us to come north. We have sworn revenge and Gufo's death will not be in vain.
I best conclude this entry. We were fortunate to I made the group stop by a cave where we found Azuul and a cabal of psions. They aided us with our journey by enhancing our items and healing our wounds. Azuul and the other psions warned us that we must take caution as we near Hadael and Glim's lands. I worry this will be a difficult battle.
Navigator's Log: Day ?
We arrived in a town full of folks cursed into ooze-like forms. A small child pointed out a shipwreck within some sargasso. We approached and were attacked by Uvaer and some of his minions. Vann made quick work of him with a spell that summoned a rather large rock from the sky. After that scuffle, we rested and entered the tower/ship. Inside we found an old engine and schematics to a magical engine. We saved it for Bob and Nob to look over.
Happening upon a portal (and fighting some undead elementals), we came across a dimension of ooze and gooey grossness. Entering the mansion, we found a golem in a room. I tried to use a dagger I found that said it could kill the golem but some magic within the damn thing made me want to kill myself. Luckily my crew stopped me and got rid of the golem. Eventually we came across Glim. UNFORTUNATELY, Kamir had felt it necessary to scream "GLIM!!!" every damn time he kicked in a door , so Glim was plenty prepared. He threw some... rather unpleasant things at Kamir but Kamir had it coming screaming like a damn fool. Glim tried to call for Uvaer but was displeased to find out we had killed him. It was a difficult fight but I managed to deal the final blow. We were barely able to escape when his mansion and dimension disappeared with his death.
Tragedy struck as we made our way to our ships. Meryl was struck down by an unseen foe and a nightmare I had recently had was suddenly coming true. Kamir bolted for Thunderfist, intent on using the canons against the armada that had beset upon us. I truly believed I was going to die in that moment. Believing so, I resolved to stand my ground against the paladin who had struck down Meryl. Everything was almost a blur, Vann and his Sea tiger attacked some other paladins as Bob and Nob tried in vain to protect our ships. Thunderfist and Dark Moon Rising fell to the briny deep this day. Also among the casualties were Jerris, Barrack and Callie. Using Kamir's Folding Boat, we escaped with the survivors and fled to a seacave. I had thought Taylor to be lost to us since he chose to stay behind to summon a Balor, Lady Jeane teleported him to us before leaving and then the sea cave caved in, trapping us.
Tabitha found a Wand of True Resurrection so we were able to bring back Meryl but Jerris' soul refused to return. I do not blame him to some degree.... Barrack seemed to believe he was home and passed on to the next world. Angered and devastated we tried to collected our minds, but I nearly mauled Kamir without care that I infect him but I maintained my composure. We have found an old ship that Bob, Nob, Vann and Taylor will be refurbishing as we explore the caves we have become trapped in. We believe there's an exit but time will tell.
Navigator's Log: Day ?
We are finally free! We had been stuck in this cave for sometime. The gnomes are running out of halfling pipeweed and I'm getting bored without any stars to observe. We decided to explore the cavern tunnels in hopes of finding a way out. Lady Jeanne found us and entered the cave with the sole purpose to yell at us about being heretics because of Taylor's summoning of a Balor. I'm not sure what they talked about, but she apologized to us and offered to help.
While they talked, we explored the caverns. Poor Zaki met his end at a dead-end (literally) that collapsed and mad him and Kamir fall down a pit into lava. Kamir was actually lucky enough to grab the ledge and not fall to his death. After I helped him climb back to solid ground, we went back to the ship and made Tabitha come back with us to search the rest of the caves. For the record, Meryl did try to bring back Zaki, but his soul would not heed her call.
The tunnels eventually turned into metal. We encountered some strange green glowing goo that made a few of us ill and made my eyes sensitive to light, but all of this was easily remedied by Meryl's healing. We eventually found ourselves in a hall of sorts with strange outfits that mimicked my inertial armor powers with strange boxes filled with magic energy. More exploration yielded an strange disembodied voice called "Dave" who claimed to be a 'computer" (I still don't quite understand what he or it was). He claimed to be in charge of a ship (which apparently is what those metal tunnels and rooms were), but he said he was neither the captain nor the navigator. He also claimed this "ship" could travel beyond the skies and into other planes of existence. He further explained that the insigna GASA stood for "Gnomish Aeronautics Space Administration.
We explored around the ship and found some strange weapons that fired energy bolts that were super hot, like fire, but appeared to be made of light. Bob and Nob came down to the ship and collected everything of value while we spoke to Dave some more.
Dave informed us that "cyborgs" in the tunnels ahead had been corrupted and were dangerous. They resembled golems, but apparently were part human. We ended up fighting a couple of them and a few strange creatures which Dave identified as 'sirens'. They looked like what happens if giant vermin mate with mindflayers. They tried to seduce us with illusions but Vann and I saw through their tricks and dispatched them and the cyborg quickly.
Further down the tunnels and down a hole, we found a stone bridge over a lava field while chasing another cyborg. Kamir, in his usual enthusiasm, ran across the bridge after the cyborg and two enormous fire elementals. They hurled lava at us and Kamir. On the other side of the brdige (and on fire) Kamir found a golem or giant armor suit... I'm not sure what it is exactly, but it's cool. During the battle, I teleported into the second seat of this golem-suit-thing and helped Kamir with the controls since I could read and speak Ancient (which Dave called Japanese). There was a demon within the armor-thing and Kamir bluffed it into leaving the suit to fight us. Vann promptly blew it up with magic while Kamir was ejected from the seat and almost into the lava! Good thing his armor can make him fly. We eventually defeated everything and Taylor showed up and helped us get the golem-suit to the ship. Dave also requested that we shut him down and destroy the ship. Kamir wanted to set the destruction for five minutes until I reminded him that it took us a couple hours to get to the ship.
We were safe on our new boat when the explosion finally happened. I will miss Dave and I hope he has found peace. Thanks to his technology we were able to blast our way out of the cave. Now we must find a way to clear our names. It seems that the town that Glim had experimented on was found dead and we're to blame. I can only assume that Darius is behind this and we will have to face him soon.
Navigator's Log: Day ?
While Bob and Nob still work on our new ship, we decided to go to Heliosaar to find more crew members. Taylor and Calie joined us in our travels while Vann stayed with the ships. Kamir made a moving speech but it didn't seem to impress the bar patrons. So I did some improvising. A fellow by the name of Steve eagerly joined our crew and a dwarf by the name of Glacio.
It turned out that Glacio was of the same clan as Barrack. He had decided to travel through the mountains to come to our surface to right wrongs or something... He also joined our crew but I do not think he fully realizes what we are or how we do things around here.
We decided to set forth to "Damnation" to defeat Charon, but we ran into some trouble. There had been some recent kidnappings, all believed to be committed by Lady Anna, a vampire who worked for Charon. As we entered the forest with the intention of looking for some of the missing people, Taylor thought he saw the ghost of Amy, his friend, and ran blindly forward. We ran afterwards but before we realized it, we were surrounded by an unnatural darkness. We were then beset by squirrels. That's right. Squirrels. Well, Skuirds from the shadow planes, but that is beside the point. They attacked us from all sides but we could not hear them coming as the darkness was also silenced.
It was pretty much a blur from this point until I escaped back to town. While I could not see or hear anything, I could smell the area around me. The scent of Kamir vanished at one point and I knew he had fallen. Meryl fell next. I did my best to fight. I was determined to go down fighting if I was to die at all. I could only pray that Vann, who had stayed behind, would save us in some form, but I have had my doubts to his loyalty to Kamir let alone me.
Eventually, Glacio and I defeated the squirrelly menace. As the silence ended, Lady Anna boasted her superiority towards us and I sassed her back in my usual manner. Then, Amy asked Anna what to do with us as the "barrier" going to fail soon. As soon as the barrier fell, Glacio and I made a break for it. I managed to dodge Lady Anna's attack, which resembled Meryl's Radient Assault spell.
My first goal was to resurrect my nakama and after a week, we had all recovered. As we sat in the Temple of Flanna to plot our next move, a strange figure rose from the ground and scared the crap out of us. The woman was also startled by us and fled. We followed after her, Kamir using the gravitational properties of his boots in what almost resembled forethought and tactics. At first, the strange elven woman refused to speak in anything but undercommon, which Glacio could understand. I eventually got her to converse with me in Ancient, although it was clear she wasn't as fluent in it as I was. Her name is Remi and she is a Dusk elf. She is looking for a pair of swords that were stolen ages ago by 'Veldrin the Traitor'. She refused our help but has not denied us the chance to travel alongside her in the same direction. We figure we have similar goals in mind and I want to learn more about her.
Navigator's Log: Day ?
I am scared. For myself and my nakama*. Recently, the moon has taken on a bloody hue and I've begun to feel... like a werewolf. I know I am a werewolf, but I've lived my life denying my people's ways. I just don't eat people... It's not me! But I've desired it ever since the moon has turned blood red.
I've ate some of the local livestock but I'm not sure how much longer I can keep this up. I managed to resist the urge to threaten the crew for some time, but eventually, they came to know my problem.
Shortly afterwards, a group of frost giants attacked the town. We attempted to fight them. Unfortunately I was killed in battle, but the crew was victorious and managed to raise me. We continued on our way until we ran into Lady Anna.
After a fellow psion telekinetically removed my clothes as a way to 'distract us' for Lady Anna (she fled but had time to bitch about the guy's choice in distraction). We followed the halfling, named Chronos, to a cavern where we met Azul and the other psions we had met before fighting Glim. It was then I snapped at Kamir and nearly mauled him. I called him a "delicious steak" and came close to killing him, but one of the psions calmed me. They explained to us that my mood was possibly being effected by the "Blood Moon"
Later we came across a town that was being harassed by frost giants. They told us that they would offer us a reward if not for the fact that the thieves' guild had all the wealth.
*((nakama = 'circle of friends' aka crewmates))
Navigator's Log: Day ?
It's been three months since my last entry. Much has happened. The moon isn't red anymore which is good since Andrade and I aren't ravenous maniacs anymore. Taranus attacked us and we all fell. Thankfully, Taylor kept the crew in check and worked hard to get us revived. They also managed to fight and defeat Charon during our absence. Kamir muttered about fearing that his position as captain was being threatened, but I quickly reassured him that he was still the leader. No sooner had we all been brought up to speed on the situation than Taranus showed up.
I am glad to say that he only wanted to talk. It would seem that he has finally seen that we are not evil. Unlawful, yes, but evil, certainly not! (I sometimes wonder about Vann though). We explained our actions and he agreed to leave us in peace, leaving Maev on our ship to assure we behaved.
As I conclude this entry, we are nearing the Ice fortress of Yuki. We have a great battle to plan and this psion needs her rest.
Navigator's Log: Day of Sorrow and New Allies
I can barely hold my pen as I write this.... most of the crew and Kamir are dead. Countless members of the thieves' guild who had joined us on our new ship, The Shocker, had perished in the frost attacks of the white dragons. Cali and Tabitha survived and Remi barely did herself. Unfortunately, Andrade fell as well (why does any man I hold interest in die? I swear I'll never get laid!), but the greatest tragedy was the only I never expected...
I've never questioned anyone's choice to pass on. You want to move on from this world? That's your prerogative. NO ONE and I mean NO ONE should ever be trapped... but that's exactly what happened. At the time, I didn't realize the dagger Darius used was made from a metal that steals souls. If only I acted quicker...
I know I told him all the time I hated his antics and I yelled at him a lot but Kamir was like a really weird and insane big brother to me. I was too upset to tell if the others missed him as I did. I know they missed him, but as their fun-loving captain. It's just impossible to believe that I won't be hearing any more perverse jokes or see him breakdancing on the deck.
Fucking Darius.... I swear to the gods I will end Darius in the most painful way possible. He will realize the fury of the storm. I will free Kamir's soul from that dagger and when I do, I will gladly help him be a werebadger or whatever he wants.
Despite our pain, there is good news. Tira and Yama have returned. They took out the dragons in less than a minute. We also solved the mystery of the missing bagels. An elf by the name of Eir had stowed away with the intent of taking the Bercilak back home as he was sent by his mother. He has agreed to join us on our quest "if it will make him (Bercilak) come home to his mother"
Yama is acting captain now. No offense to Vann, but Yama is just too badass and I have some history with him (even though he was the mop-boymop-man).
We went to fight Yuki and defeated some pesky imps before reaching her. We quickly realized she was being possessed and Vann, with use of some clever magic, rendered her helpless and we exorcised the demon which I gladly BBQ'd. Yuki eventually awoke and after much explanations and apologies around, we have decided to set course for Darius.
Navigator's Log: Day of Changes
We're in lower Mith, Eir and The Bercilak's homeland. It was some adventure getting here too. With advice from Lady Yuki, we set sail to find and fight Darius.
As we stormed his keep, we were beset by demons of all sorts. Most of the crew stayed behind to defend the ship while we took Bob & Nob in tow to the castle.
