The WANING Lunar cycle is drawing to a close as we anticipate the New Moon occurring on March 26 with the luminaries coming together in the sign of Aries [action and energy]. The energy of the New Moon sets the tone or theme for the coming month. The emphasis is on
self expression, setting plans into motion, discovery and adventure. Hopefully we may begin to venture more into the outdoors, and while Spring has officially arrived
the weather seems unwilling to co-operate in many places.
The month ends with the Moon in Gemini [friends fun and frolic].
The Full Moon on the 9th falls in Libra opposing the Sun in Aries. Here we have the polarity between Fire and Air. These energies will seek balance between the need for self-expression and the desire for harmonization with others. Typically the Aries energy is all about exerting force and leadership, while the Moon in Libra seeks to be accepted and congenial in terms of socializing with others.
Under this Full Moon the focus will be on Relationships highlighting the necessity of balancing between self and others. Aries is fiercely independent and self-directed while Libra seeks harmonization with others. This will be a climax at which time the motive to act and to lead may result in conflicts or disagreements. Thus it will be adviseable to clear up any conflicts or misunderstandings before the Moon reaches its’ culmination. There could be a need for extra understanding or compromise to avoid major disagreements in the heat of the moment. When afflicted the Aries energy can become highly competitive, aggressive and self-centered. When the Libra energy is thwarted, individuals can become indecisive and overly compensating in an effort to avoid confrontation or hostility.
This full moon is a good time to evaluate the substance of personal relationships, to fix what needs mending and eliminate that which stands in the way of equilibrium in partnerships. It takes two to tango, as they say, and both partners need to feel respected, trusted, honored and appreciated. A strong configuration of the Sun and the Moon with Neptune promises the potential for positive creative or humanitarian activities however critical transformations may be a part of the playing out of individual dramas. Secretive or destructive energies may be afoot so it is wise to beware of potential hidden agendas in some people.
The Sun is in Aries until the 19th of April, fuelling action, momentum and ambition before moving into the fixed Earth sign of Taurus. [see more under Planetary highlights]
The full Moon often brings illuminations or clarity of certain issues which then must be evaluated and integrated within the self as the fervent energy of Aries begins to wind down during the Waning Moon.
The New Moon occurs on the 24th with the Luminaries joining together in Taurus. As the month ends the Moon is in Cancer relating to emotional security and domestic concerns.
