Employed for a financial institution focused on Lending and Consumer operations. Lead a team of three developers through specification, design, development, testing and deployment for an Online Banking System. Collaborated with architects, project managers, strategy and business analysts to create project schedules, business strategy documents and technical architectures. A partial detail list of the project scope follows.

  • Worked in a team of 7 (4 web developers, 1 database developer, 1 technical writer, 1 graphic designer), designed and developed an online banking system application from the ground up. This process involved database design (Oracle 8.0 and SQL Server 2000), graphic design (Adobe Photoshop), web development (ASP, JavaScript, HTML), testing and the setting up of necessary web servers and operating systems (Windows 2000 Advanced Server, Windows Internet Information Server 5.0). This banking system enabled prospective and current clients to apply for various banking products, i.e. checking, loan accounts as well as access and manipulate current accounts.
  • Built middle-tiered components that communicate with gateway servers by requesting specific customer banking data, capturing the message response and returning the message in XML format to the client. Used XSLT to dynamically display results, for example sorting records. Registered components in COM+ in Windows 2000 Advanced Server.
  • Gathered business requirements and prepared specifications for the design and development of various phases of the project. For example, the development of components that facilitate the communication and data transfer between third party gateway servers and current banking systems.
  • Responsible for the normalization of database design affecting the project, which included the creation and alteration of tables, stored procedures, cursors and scheduled jobs.
  • Developed WSH/CSS scripts that process data, generate daily batch files and transmit the files to third party companies. Scheduled a job to execute the scripts daily using ECS (Event Control Server).

Web Developer for a B2C start up website focusing on both front and back end development. Engagements included:

  • Actively participated in the conversion from Microsoft based architecture to a multi-tiered scalable architecture. Technology environment included Oracle 8i/Java 2/Sun Enterprise 4500 servers. Java technology included J2EE i.e. JSP, Java Servlets, JNDI, JVM, EJB. Responsible for converting ASPs to JSPs and developing servlets for the server side.
  • Implemented dynamic web forms using Active Server Pages (ASP), JavaScript, HTML, and DHTML. The web forms use ASP code to interface with back end business logic.
  • Built and implemented COM objects for transaction processing. The components interact with a relational database on the back-end.
  • Built an error-trapping component that is used throughout ASPs that writes errors in server event log and SQL server table.
  • Registered components/DLLs on web servers using IIS, MTS, and Windows NT 4.0.
  • Employed XML technology for dynamic content presentation for co-branded pages on the web site.
