Our facination with the breed started a long time ago. The longer we are with the breed the better is our understanding of what a true doberman should be.
In 2006 we moved to the States from Germany. This move opened up new horizons but made it more difficult to train and show. But despite all obstacles, we proceed titling our dogs in Schutzhund and conformation.
Even if you are not interested in showing or training, you have to realize why we do this.
1. Shows are what dictates the breeders what a modern doberman should look like, which traits are in higher regard, which studs are recommended for breeding etc.
2. By showing and training successfully we know our dogs are suitable candidates for quality breeding.
Don't be confused by what most breeders claim on their websites or in conversations. "We are the best", "the best ever", etc. How do they support claims like this? Do they show? Do they train? The only 'best' dog is the dog that proves it's a top winner by winning major competitions like Euro Dog Show or World Dog Show or IDC show; top producer - by siring winning progeny, top working dog - by completing Schutzhund level 3 and more...
Well, 99% of the breeders leave it as it is - just talk... We are ACTIVELY involved with the breed, Schutzhund training and showing. Our health testing program includes hip and heart certification, blood panel, vWD testing, eye certification (if it's available locally). Our dogs are annually vet checked, they live inside and sleep with us...
... and we love them!
