Foreword

Welcome to AOR Indonesia.  AOR is "Adult Oriented Rock" which is another name for Adult Contemporary Music. It is a combination of Soft Rock, Jazz Fusion and R&B.  Lots of Indonesian called the genre as "Jazzy Tunes."

AOR trend started in Japan several years ago, the trend spread to Europe and some Asian countries, include Indonesia.   The music might not becoming a big hits in the Billboard™, but it surely was loved by many of AOR fans.  And Indonesia AOR Fans have distinctive taste due to one powerful radio station in 1980s Elshinta, its DJ Wahyu Sha always introduce unique AOR songs in his weekly chart program Elshinta 13.

I dedicate this page to my 1980s friend at 1368 Khz Elshinta, and AM738 Ramako.

Prakata

Selamat datang kawan ke situs yang saya buat.  Kalau kita masih mengingat setiap hari Sabtu jam 18:00 ada banyak diantara kita yang menunggu dengan semangat acara Elshinta 13 di gelombang 1368 khz dengan si pembawa acara Wahyu Sha.  Acara tersebut ternyata memberikan wawasan musik yang disebut AOR oleh masyarakat international terutama di Jepang, German dan Negara Eropa lainnya (kecuali America mereka lebih menyebutnya Adult Contemporary).  Dan uniknya sebagai masyarakat pencinta AOR di Indonesia kita mempunyai kesukaan lagu yang kadang mungkin tidak dikenal atau digemari di manca negara.  Contoh yang paling jelas adalah, ketika All I Am dan Dreaming You menjadi mega hits di Jakarta dan sekitarnya, lagu tersebut sama sekali tidak menjadi hits di negara lain.  Masih banyak lagi contohnya, seperti Lady Valentine dari David Gates, lagu ini sampai sekarang bahkan masih sering diputar di radio.   Dan untuk mendapatkan original CD ataupun LPnya adalah pekerjaan yang sangat sulit.   Memang kita mempunyai selera yang unik.  Dan dengan demikian ijinkan saya mebuat situs ini untuk kegemaran kita bersama terhadap musik musik AOR, khususnya AOR Indonesia. Jazzy Tunes 2 has been released by Sony Indonesia , with top songs from the 80s like New York Rio Tokyo dari Trio Rio, Come With Me - Tania Maria, Fly Away - Peter Allen and Please Please Please by Johnny Logan.  Thanks to Tony Arief and Jeff St. for the efforts

Thanks to AJ for sending me his very interesting CD.  For AOR Indonesia fans AJ's song titled 'how bout me' will remind you of the New Minstrel the duet who sang 'Smile' the top hits of 1980-1981 in Elshinta.
