| Fuel Surcharge Information | May 20, 2008
New pricing based on fuel cost increase.
Due to rapidly escalating fuel costs, it is imperative we adjust our prices to reflect present fuel costs. Our anglers will see price increases as a "fuel surcharge" that will be added to each trip as necessary using the following formula. The fuel price upon which advertised fares are based is $3.00/gallon. The fuel surcharge will be based on the average number of gallons used per day (400 gallons) multiplied by cost increase above $3.00/gallon divided by the total number of anglers on the trip.
*Fare increases will likely fluctuate as fuel costs can vary significantly between fueling intervals.
*Fuel price upon which fare increases are calculated will be available upon inquiry.
While we realize that fare increases are unwelcome, there is no way to effectively foresee the massive price increases that have dominated the oil industry during the prior three months. It is our goal to maintain transparent business practices while providing the fairest pricing possible for our anglers. In these difficult times we simply request our angler's patience and understanding as cost increases are the result of economic factors beyond our control.
Please see an example below.
Sincerely,

This an example based on today's (5/20/08) fuel prices.
Todays Fuel cost:........................ $4.50
Average gallons used per day:...... 400
Fuel Cost.....................................$1800.00
Fuel cost at time of schedule creation...$3.00
Average gallons used per day................400
Fuel Cost..............................................$1200
Difference of $600.00 divided by total number of passengers.
Average passenger load of 30 people would be a $20.00 fuel surcharge per person, per day.
July 22, 2008: Suggestion for private charters.
I would like to make a suggestion for our charter masters, some groups have added a few extra anglers on their trips and used the fare to pay for the Fuel charge. This is working well. Lets not allow high fuel costs to destroy our passion for fishing. The Grande is a big boat and 2 or 3 more people wont over-crowd us. Up your load a little and it will work. James
