Hello and welcome to my web page. This creative endeavor is the outcome of a shift in my career, what I would call a mid-life revelation. The revelation came to me, like many good ideas will, while I was fishing. I decided that after spending over twenty years as a professional anthropologist, archaeologist and college professor, it was time to do something else. I had become weary of the sterile halls of academe and turned to something that was much more stimulating and free: fiction-writing. I still love anthropology, after all that is who I am, but my real joy is trying to put much of what I've learned about human culture and archaeology into the mystery/thriller genre. I think the blending of archaeology and mystery-writing is a natural marriage. Each seek answers to the unknown, using the tools of logic, fact-finding, and most importantly, imagination. I love to write, and would love it if others enjoy my work. But, as any new writer will tell you, getting known and accepted (published) is a struggle, so I still have a good day job.
So far I've written three novels, excerpts of which are in the pages to follow. Artifact of Deception, and Doctorate in Death are published by PublishAmerica.com.. Also check Amazon.com for reviews. My other efforts are Unnecessary Vengeance (completed) and Death Rides the Whirlwind (in progress). I hope you like them, and feel free to contact me and let me know what you think.
