Where's My Music?

The files are Windows Media files (.wma), so you probably need that player.
My compositions:

Achilles' Myth for violin and piano
     This is
one of my most mature recorded works. It was performed by two very-talented fellow grad students at Kent State, Jacob Murphy (violin) and Geri Noh (piano). Many of the notes are right, but more important, the feel of it is right.
Three Songs from The Rubaiyat of Omar           Khayyam

1. Certain Things

2. Dust, sans...

3. Hereafter

These are my most mature choral pieces that I have recorded. Kent State's Ars Nova Singers performed them and, except that I think movement two is too slow, did a great job.

String Quarte
t

The first piece I wrote and had recorded in graduate school. Fairly tonal, but fairly interesting and rather nice, I think. I felt honored to have the Euclid Quartet, our resident graduate student quartet at the time, perform my piece. They're awfully good.

Stanzas: Two Poems by John Keats

1. Stanzas

2. O Solitude!

These were the second pieces I wrote in grad school; the first was written while I studied with my first composition teacher, while the latter was done with my current teacher, the wonderful Tom Janson. In both of these, I'm still looking for my voice, looking for the harmonies that I want to write. I hadn't found them yet, but in the meantime, I found these pretty interesting. I directed this performance and, although it's not a great performance, I'll take the blame for that and give a lot of credit to the ladies who put in so much work to perform these pieces.

These are two songs I wrote in late 2005 for guitar and voice. If only I could actually play guitar.
