The thug Shanin took care of already staggers to his feet and is reaching for his own gun.
Man: “Bitch…”
Shinhon kicks him in the back of the head, while holding a food tray and not spilling a drop.
Audience: “Oh oh!” Clap, clap, clap.
Shinhon sends Shanin a wink
Shinhon: “She’s giving me that ‘it’s none of your business’ face…”
Boss: “Funguh fuguh… Mo, Mochiyama, do, do something~!”

Shanin stares as the girls smiles.
Shanin: A smiling face…from seeing me…?
Saeko: “See? That’s the results of dressing up!”
Shanin: “Dressing up….. I’m sorry….. I was so troublesome. I, didn’t know any of this… Ordinary people… I know I am that now. That I need to think and act like one…But as of yet, I’m not able to think in that way very well… So…thank you.”

Chapter 43 (Shinjuku Baptism)

Umi: "Shinhon! Come here a moment!"
Umi slaps his hand on the counter hard, surprising Shinhon. Umi lifts his hand to reveal an envelope.
Umi: "......your pay."
Shinhon: "Eh.....?!"
Umi: "It's not much to speak of, so don't waste it!"
Shinhon: "I want to buy something for Shanin to celebrate... This is the first money I've ever earned for working...."
Umi: "Oh..."
Shinhon: "If I can...I'd like to ask her to a movie....it would be fun....Then afterwards we could have dinner...."

The old man is kneeling in front of the front door, with it open a crack. Shinhon had not noticed him before.
Chin: "Is it true?!"

Shanin: “…you’re a target…don’t you understand that? Ryo Papa told me to get you to the apartment.”

Woman: "Where is the man called Ryo Saeba?! Come on out!"
Shanin is shocked as a business type woman imperially comes into the apartment when she opens the door.
Woman: "Stop trying to hide!"
Shanin: "He's...not in right now..."
Woman: "Hmph...he's really...not here..." She turns a stern eye on Shanin. "And you? Are you Saeba's woman?"

Nobuhiko: "Ryo-chan, are you all right? Ryo-chan!"
Shanin it thoroughly confused by the events.
Shanin: "If Ryo Papa...likes men... He's a pervert! I don't want a father like that!" She takes off.
Nobuhiko: "Shanin-chan?!"
Ryo: "Hoe~~~~e."
Nobuhiko: "You've made a mistake. Wait, Shanin-chan!"

Shanin stares at him then smiles.
Shanin: "You shouldn't drink...it's bad for your injury."
Ryo: "I won't overdo it... Besides, this job is over...."
Chapter 47 Searching for Papa!
Ryo: "Why did you come along?"
Shanin: "...I was free..."
Ryo: "What? Could it be you want to help?"
Shanin: "I wasn't planning on it...."
Ryo: "Sigh. There are no requests again today... Let's go."
Shanin notices a note stuck to the board with a bandaid.
Shanin: "Ryo, Ryo Papa!"

Employee: "Hello. Please order whatever you'd like."
Shanin: "Ah...uhm, okay, coffee."
Employee: "Would you like Japanese coffee? Or a cappuccino? We also have three varieties of espresso--espresso, makatto, and espresso compana. Also----" *******Look up on net!****
Shanin: "A cappuccino!"
Employee: "Which size would you like?"

Shanin walks away disgruntled. She then spots a pay phone.
Shanin: "As I figured, guess I'll have to try to contact them from here then...."
The pay phone dials out and rings, and so does a cell phone in the shop.
Shanin: "That kid....?!"
Girl: "Yes, hello. Is no one there? Why aren't you saying anything? Maybe we got cut off."
Shanin: "Ah...." She glances at the girl. "She's got such lonely looking eyes. Too much so for a girl so young...?"
Man: "Oh my~~ look at all the stickers on that cute portable phone. Won't you let me see it? As a thank you, I will give you a page of stickers, little miss."
Girl: "No way!"
The man grabs her arm.
Man: "Don't you think it'd be better to let me see it!"
Ashan gets ready to pommel the guy. A piercing whistle cuts through the room. It's the little girl.
Man: "No... Oi! Hey.... Tchi!"
Girl: "Hmph."
Shanin: "Are you all right?"
The little girl gets poised to blow the whistle again, but then notices the card in Shanin's hand.
Girl: "You don't have...a cell phone?"
Shanin: "Eh....? Eheh...."
Girl: "Guess that's why City Hunter would have to use a public phone...So sad~ And you're a woman too. Could you be the real thing?"
Shanin: "Of, of course I'm the real thing!" She doesn't know how to drink from the Starbuck's cup so she takes the lid off."

Girl: (Straing wide eyed at Umi's giant stature) "...Is that right...?"

Umi: "But, her combat abilities should be comparable if not equal to his... She's the real thing. She surpasses all limits!"
Shanin: "Do you believe now?"
Girl: "I do....!" (If I say I don't, they'll kill me....)
Shinhon: "What's Shanin planning on doing?"
Umi: "Well now... Looks like she's planning on taking a request and getting into Ryo's same business."
Shanin: "Your request...does it have something to do with the business of that man a while ago? Is it to arrest that man...? To shadow him and help out if he...."
Girl: "You're wrong....! My mother has been playing hide and seek the man forever.... I want this stopped......"

To all in the café, the image has slowly been building up and abruptly appears as Ryo.
Shinhon: "That hits surprisingly close to home, doesn't it...? Your father..."
The door to the café opens and Ryo strolls in.
Ryo: "Cheese, Umi-chan"
Girl: "It's Papa!"
Ryo: "Eh?"
Girl: "The image fits him to a T!" She throws herself into his arms.
Shanin: "Ryo Papa.... do I have a younger sister?"
Ryo: "Ii?! A chi..."
Umi: "Are you getting a clue here?"
Ryo: "Wha... Ha...haha what are you saying~~~" Saeba looks sick for a moment. "Overabundance of clues, specifically as for the impossible! I've had an affair or two."
Umi: "This guy..... You've been caught..."
Shinhon: "Wow"
Shanin looks on blankly.
Hojo: "Will yet another new family be revealed?!"
Chapter 48 Papa's Portrait
(Cat's Eye)
Shinhon: "Congratulations on solving the case! Awe, awesomely done...yeah! Your first job and you finished it on the same day, cheers~~~!"
Shanin is totally ignoring Shinhon instead watching Ryo play with the girl.
Girl: "Hey, hey, how come Papa played hide and seek for such a long time?"
Ryo: "Can't say...it's due to adult circumstances..."
Girl: "Where have you been till now? Did you recognize Tanya just now? Do I look like Mama?
Ryo: "Ah, ahah... You look just like her! I knew you right away!"
Tanya: "Mama's crying. Come back with me! I've been looking for you to make Mama feel better."
Ryo: "Ah~~~ Yeah~~~"
Shinhon: "Hahaha... Is she really Saeba-san's daughter?"
Umi: "Nothing's been proven, so who is to say? Though love seems to have hit dead on target."

Tanya: "Here! This is for next Saturday!" She takes out a paper from her bag.
Ryo: "Father...inspection?"

Ryo scratches his head staring at the notice. He looks up and sees Shanin staring hard at him.

Ryo: "It's very likely she is not my child...."
Shanin: "Well, then why didn't you tell her that?"
Ryo: "Could you do it...? When I saw the happiness in her face...." Shanin says nothing. "Why would she think I am her father...? Who could be her mother and when did I meet her?"
Shanin: "You don’t have any clue?"
Ryo: "Tanya...That's a Russian name... There's a hostess at Club Carnival who's Russian, the child looks just like her. There's little chance of a mistake...."
Shanin: "Surely she couldn't be this person's kid, could she, Ryo!"
Ryo: "Wah... Kaori mode has suddenly implemented?!"
Tanya: "Papa!" The girl rushes out of the Cat's Eye looking very upset. "I was surprised. I didn't know where you'd gone!"
Ryo: "That's silly. I didn't go anywhere."
Shanin stares sadly at the girl's clinging reaction.

Tanya: "---Mama will be so surprised that I brought Papa home."
Ryo, Shanin, and Tanya are walking down the street.
Tanya: "On inpection day, I'll draw Papa's picture! This will be the first time Tanya can draw Papa! Tanya is very good at drawing!"
Ryo: "Is that so? Well it should be fun."
Tanya: "Yep, I'll draw real good."
(Flashback)
Instructor: "Why were you hiding and keeping this drawing, 27!"
It's apicture of a house and mom and dad but with blank faces expect for a smile.
Shanin: "I didn't want to forget Mama and Papa's face.... I thought that if I drew them, it would help me remember them...."
Instructor: "There's no need to remember them! You must forget the face of your parents, brothers, and sisters! Keeping such sweet thoughts will not be kept now that you life here! You must all rid yourselves of any past loyalties to your parents, understand?!"
Kids: "Yes!"
Intructor: "27!"
Shanin: ".......yes...."
They set the picture up on one of the target clips in the shooting range.
Instructor: "All right, if you understand, then do it! Fire!"
Shanin hesitates then shoots twice. Both bullets pierced the heads of her picture.
(End Flashback)
Ryo: "What?! We can't go to your house?"
Tanya: "It's because by this time, Mama's gotten up and has gone on to the shop."
Ryo: "The shop? I see...this is a bit troublesome."
Tanya: "Why.....?"
Ryo: "You want to know why...hahaha, I owe the shop some money and so I haven't dared show my face there..."
Tanya: "Owe money...? I get it! That's why Papa has been playing hide and seek! Tanya will take care of it!"
Ryo: "Eh.... Well...you can't actually. Huh...?"
Tanya: "Everyday Mama gives Tanya an allowance. I never use all of it so I've been saving it for a long time. I was going to buy Mama a present with it for her birthday. But from now on... Papa can be the one to buy it and give it to her, forever! Yep, here, please use it."

Ryo moves forward to hug her but instead Shanin gets to her first.

Ryo looks on.
They finally arrive at a builkding filled with clubs.
Tanya: "I'll go get Mama!"
Ryo: "Sure...sneaky, sneaky."
Tanya stops and turns around.
Tanya: "Don’t you go anywhere!"
Ryo: "I get it, I get it. I'll wait."
Shanin: "....Ryo Papa....I....is it okay to continue on with this request?"
Ryo: "What could I say at this point? It was aceepted, so now it has to be seen to the end until it's settled! That's our motto!"
