Despite their similarities, she wasn't the Bailey that we've come to know and love. Still, she was a comely lass. She was attractive and feminine, but not so beguiling as to make her appear like a Hollywood actress or a professional model. The role called for her to portray a simple 18-year-old mountain lass, and somehow, the cast and crew made this work.
Have you ever seen those photos of Hollywood beauties, when they're not made up to look glamorous? Supposedly, some of them can look quite ordinary, but they still need the raw foundation on which this glamour can be built.
