Ok, so the new format had an additional perk to it. It turns out that by making it more complicated to update, my already negligible motivation to update dropped even further! Plus with the end of Friends and the dissolving of Da Band, I've been inconsolable and unable to function. So for now it's back to this old thing. Since it's been a wee bit since my last rambling, this will probably be a long one, so buck up, because here we go:

First, I have been working a lot. Mostly it's still Production Assistant stuff, but I am also moving into the realm of something called Video Assist. Basically I record what the camera records on a separate tape so if they want to see playback right away, I am the man. However, there is a ton of equipment in the Video Assist package and I can't fit it all into my car. If this starts to become a regular thing I may need to think about getting a bigger vehicle, perhaps a Family Truckster or a Humvee. After all, it's my God-given right as an American to own a car I really don't need. (Editor's Note: Please forgive this attempt at satire. In an attempt to keep the page at the same level of smartitude, that "joke" should be read as "farty farty poop poop.")

I've been able to see the fruits of my labor a few times. If you see an infomercial for a HD satellite provider called VOOM, with Mark Bunting (yes THAT Mark Bunting) of Bunting's Window (yes THAT Bunting's Window) you can say "Hey, John worked on that and then pretended to not only to know who Mark Bunting is but also that he is someone of importance!" and the person you are talking to will say "What?" and you'll say by "Nevermind..." and then get mad because they never listen to you anymore.

I also have secured my place in history by just having finished working on the first prenatal yoga video shot in HD! (Take THAT Columbus!) It's for the baby-momma, not the fetuses (though they could use it, those lazy wretches).

I've also been busy with Cinema Queso stuff, and am currently writing/directing/editing this month's offering. More movies are up on the site now and the phrase "animated boners" no longer appears under my name. The site is still a work in progress, so drop me a line and tell me what you think.

I have also been pretty busy with the upcoming move, actually moves plural. First, Kathleen is moving back to Denison, IA for a few months before moving to London, England (yes THAT London, England) for awhile. There she will be doing some social work as part of this 6-month program. Me, I am staying in Portland and eating crackers. I will be moving to a new place though and will be back in Omaha for a bit in July. So good luck to Kathleen as she travels abroad and works hard doing some good in the world. Also, good luck to me because those crackers can be pointy in the corners.

Mostly though, I spent a good deal of time doing battle with produce. (bottom of page)
