X-ray crystallography:  Crystal growth and screening (manual and robotic), data collection (home source R-axis detectors, ALS 5.0.1 and NSLS X4A/X12C), data processing (Denzo, Mosflm), phase determination by molecular replacement (AMoRe, CNS) and multiwavelength anomalous dispersion (Shelx, Sharp), model building (Quanta, O), model refinement (CNS, Refmac/CCP4), molecular graphics (Ribbons, PyMOL, GRASP, MolScript/Raster3D, Midas).

Protein biochemistry & molecular biology:  Design and construction of DNA expression vectors, PCR-based site-directed mutagenesis, high level expression of protein in bacteria, protein refolding, protein purification (affinity, ion-exchange, and size exclusion chromatography).  Bioanalytical electrophoretic techniques, SDS-PAGE and immunoblot analysis.  Analysis of protein-protein interactions by surface plasmon resonance assay (Biacore), size-exclusion chromatography, analytical ultracentrifugation, gel shift assay, and co-precipitation.

Receptor biochemistry:  Analysis of peptide binding site using radiolabeled, photoreactive ligands, analysis of complex formation by chemical cross-linking, peptide mapping by enzymatic and chemical cleavage, analysis of ligand affinity by equilibrium binding/rapid filtration and changes in intrinsic tryptophan fluorescence, and kinetics of receptor endocytosis.

Computer experience:  MacOS, Windows, and UNIX systems; molecular graphics on SGI system.
