Welcome!

Here's what's up with me:

  • Living Lightly gathering at Michigan Friends Center, 11/22/08

I've registered for the annual Living Lightly gathering in Chelsea, MI, 11/22 from 9 am to 4 pm. How about you? Here is a flier. Topics include "Changing Joyously to Achieve Sustainability" with Jim Crowfoot. Great opportunity to connect with others who are creatively engaged in living more harmoniously (and lightly, of course) on the planet. See MFC Center Web site to register..

  • National Novel Writing Month

Yow!  I just committed to writing 50,000 words during the month of November.  Which is to say, I signed up for National Novel Writing Month

  • Conscious aging

I've been doing some speaking and singing on conscious aging. Check out my article on the topic in the Fall 2008 Crazy Wisdom Community Journal. It's only two years til I turn 60!  It's not that I've got it all figured out, but I'm certainly familiar with the terrain.  Here's more info about the September 2008 events.

  • Chant recording

I brought together the Chants for Peace Project, a group of 22 wonderful singers and instrumentalists, to record a CD, "Home to the River of Love."

Engineered by Leigh Daniels, the album consists of 30 simple, rhythmic chants, with accompaniment on harp, flute, percussion, guitar, and sitar.  We chose chants that are easy to learn, that lift the spirit and bring a sense of hope and connection.

Singing together about peace, community, and the natural world is an antidote to all the fear and anger in the air these days.   The recording took place in the sanctuary of Temple Beth Emeth/St. Clare of Assisi Episcopal Church in Ann Arbor.  It was a wonderful mix of experienced and novice singers, united by our desire to ‘be the change’ we wish to see in the world, as Gandhi said.

To order a copy, print out this order form.  Or you can listen to some sound clips and purchase the CD by credit card.
