The bus left at 10:30 pm to Valdosta, Georgia. Tomorrow they will be at Wild Adventures
The bus arrived at 7 am. The troop is getting ready for a fun day. Poncho is suggested due to light rain.
7 pm. The troop had a wet day and a lot of fun with the roller coasters and water attractions.
10 pm. All scouts had dinner at the Ole Times Country Buffet. "Home cookin' the way Mama does it". Good night. Today we had 25 visitors to this page. Please send us an email if you are following our chronicles.
The bus arrived to Camp Thunder at 5 pm. We are in a camp site at the top of "Agony Hill". We have to go up and down several times during the day.
All activities were ok. The day was hot and sunny. All scouts were enjoying all activities and they are ok.
As you see, we do not have access to the Internet in the Camp. The updates are being done by cellular phone. In order to make the call, we have to climb a hill to a water tower and then move the phone until get the signal.
Today is also sunny and hot. All the boys are drinking a lot of water and getting into the lake. The camp is fine and the food too. Last night we had our first "home sick" calls. Some of them will call tonight and the rest on Wednesday night. There is only one pay phone. We are in the real wilderness.
Thank to the camp staff, we were able to drive to a near office to update this page. The rest of the week will be by "water-tower-cell-phone". We got all the e-mails and the messages will be delivered to the boys.
Wednesday activities were OK. The newbies (AKA Mustangs) were to Stone Mountain to a Laser Show and others were to the FDR Little House House. We also hiked to find the hidden falls.
Trip to the Ocoee River for white water rafting. Yes, everybody will wear life jackets and two adults will be in each raft. We did it last year and it was the most popular, fun, and safe activity. Some of the boys will go to a Laser Show in Stone Mountain and to a Race Track in Atlanta.
Thursday update: As you see, our Internet access is very limited. We went to the Ocoee River and all the kids had a great time. We had a looooong bus trip, a wet Happy Birthday, and excellent guides in the river. Ask your children who flipped into the water. Others were to the Atlanta Speedway to see the racing cars.
The Venture Crew will have their Ocoee river trip today.
Friday update: We are having our last days of activities at the camp. Tonigh we are having our campfire and we will leave when the venturers arrive. This will be our last Internet update from camp Thunder.
Bus will arrive around 12 pm. We will update this line by cell phones. Thank you for visiting this page and for writing to your kids. All emails and packages were delivered. See you in Miami.
