Litterer Laboratories and Gaddes Firehouse No. 6 - Located at the intersection of Middleton Street and Second Ave. South, this impressive structure was used by Vanderbilt University around 1900 for a medical teaching facility complete with operating amphitheater and testing facilities. The firehouse shown next door at that time had a steeple which most likely contained a bell. Presently, the restored structure does not have that steeple.
