JEST's First Production of the 2005-2006 Season January 2006:: An American Legend with Music Based on the much-loved and highly-acclaimed novel by Mark Twain A Play with Music JEST (Jerusalem English-Speaking Theater) brings alive this cherished memoir of American life in the mid-19th century. The play includes the most beloved scenes from the novel: the fence-painting (dare we say scam?), the graveyard murder and trial, the buried treasure in the cave - and most glorious of all, the small-town boys and girls in their daily activities, meetings, and intrigues. Melodic songs and dances punctuate the lively scenes. The cast includes some of our wonderful children and adult actors from last season's Korczak's Children, and also introduces talented newcomers to JEST's stage. A special appearance will be made by Mark Twain himself - better known in Jerusalem circles as Marvin Meital. The play is directed by Leah Stoller, with Diane Herman as Musical and Vocal Director, Susan Lazinger as Assistant Director, and Arlene Chertoff as Choreographer. A perfect play for schools, children's groups, senior groups, shul groups, etc. Performance Dates: · Monday, January 9, Thursday, January 12, Monday January 16 at 8 PM. · Wednesday, January 11: Two performances, at 5 and 8:30 PM. All performances are at the Hirsch Theatre, Beit Shmuel (Mercaz Shimshon).
