Saint Clement's, the first fansite for Jemaine Clement (also nicknamed Jem, Geranium, and other strange names, but he doesn't know we call him that). We are also an official fanlisting with thefanlistings.org!
To navigate, use the menu up the top. It's as easy as that!
Quick links: Join the fanlist or the Yahoo Group.
Sadly, while this fansite has been running on the free (but, let's face it, ad-ridden and rather crap) GeoCities for over SIX YEARS (woo!), Yahoo have decided to stop the service. So, anyone with a little free (cyber)space, your help would be more than welcome.
23 March 2009 Conchords in Wellington!
Possibly not the most useful of news, since the boys have been in Wellington for a few weeks already taking a well-deserved break, and they're probably about to leave. But just to let Wellington fans know to keep an eye out - we've had a few sightings already (including: Jem buying muesli at the supermarket. The scandal!).
Keep it coming!
20 January 2009 A video while you're waiting for the next episode...
With Season 2 of Flight of the Conchords starting last Saturday, Bernard from Amoeba Online writes to tell me about a video of the guys doing an instore show in LA:
"They perform everything from an unexpected battle with a dysfunctional instrument to classics such as The Most Beautiful Girl and, of course, "Bowie".
We'd like to harken back to this great performance as we psyche ourselves up for the 2009 season."
You can check out the video here!
31 October '08 Updates coming!
Most parts of the new layout are working although some (like the videos) still need to be done. As I have a lot more free time on my hands over summer, that will get done soon.. I promise.
30 August '08 A kiss is not a contract... but I'm sure a marriage license is...
Terrible news for the truly rabid fangirl in all of us... Jemaine is now married. Not that that will stop us from adoring him. It just brings us crashing down to earth a little bit. Read all about the sad fantastic news here.
5 July '08 Not much new!
Just a few new members on the fanlist. That is all.
18 April '08 New layout...
If you've been to the site before, you may have noticed that it looks a little different. That's because it does! While keeping the vaguely-retro orange cube theme, this site no longer uses frames (because they are sooo 2002...) and has all been handily re-coded with some (really shockingly bad) CSS. Yay!
If there are any problems, such as pages that show up in the old layout, or don't show up at all, email me, and I'll try to fix it as soon as possible.
24 March '08 Found - the Jemaine 'Action Fighter' doll image and 'The Barrow' ad!
Yes that's right - due to the fact that what used to be the Tongan Ninja site has been replaced by something completely unrelated... I went digging into the vaults and found the original image. Now all those paper doll clothes are usable again! Go to the goodies page now to find the paper JemDoll.
Also found while digging in the vaults, the beer ad in which Jemaine played 'Dave', a guy who overhauled an old wheelbarrow to do mad hott tricks with. Yeah. I'd say it's from about 2003. Old skool Jemaine. Go to the sounds page to download.
12 February '08 Conchords win Grammy!
Flight of the Conchords won a Grammy for their comedy EP 'The Distant Future'. Click here to visit Stuff and read the full story. Or pick up a copy of the Dominion Post this morning.
In other very related news, the Conchords are definitely still in Wellington, having been spotted at the corner of Willis and Manners streets this morning... so if you see the boys around, congratulate them!
21 January '08 Happy New Year
Not much happening on the site... but we're much better than the Flight of the Conchords official site, which hasn't been updated since June 2006...
Also, new additions to the fanlist of course. 19 NOvember '07 Jemaine now back in NZ!
Those of you who are JemFans in New Zealand, rejoice! You can hear FotC on National Radio (or Radio New Zealand National, if you go in for all that 're-branding' stuff...) TONIGHT after the 11 o'clock news! Get those radios ready!
12 NOvember '07 More fans, slower pace...
The fanlist has been increasing, but there have been slightly less members per day than previously. Possibly because the FLight of the Conchords HBO show has finished screening in the USA. But it's still running in New Zealand! (Mondays 10pm on Prime).
Also in the news... this summer the site will be getting a big update, including making it more user-friendly, and updating the biography of Jemaine (if you've read it it's a little behind...). Stay tuned!
8 September '07 A large deluge of fans!
To all those who have yet to be added to the fanlist - I'm working on it! The volume is quite large every day, so it'll take a while to clear the backlog (yet again).
In happier news, New Zealanders who have been hankering for the FotC HBO show will now be able to watch in on Prime from September 17th and 10pm. Get those video recorders at the ready, this is something you won't want to miss!
1st August '07 255 and climbing...
Finally, the fanlist is now current. With 255 members, we're well on our way to 300 now (we even have a third page)! The Yahoo Group also has had a few new members recently, which is great news. By the way, if you're worried about why membership needs approval, it's to stop spammers sending messages through the group. All for the greater good... :D
18th July '07 200 members and counting!
These last two weeks have seen a giant surge of activity on the fanlist - with five to ten new members joining every day! Sadly, the updating of the fanlist has not kept up with demand, so they are being added gradually. We are at 200 now, but many more are still to be added.
For all those who will be attending the Wellington premiere of Eagle vs Shark this Saturday night, the Dominion Post reports that Jem is likely to be far too busy doing cool stuff overseas to come to the premiere - so hard luck for all avid JemFans out there!
Due to the popularity of the group, the photo on the Yahoo Group has been changed... because the old one wasn't so good. Hopefully more people will sign up and start what could be some very interesting discussions on Jemaine. Check it out!
3rd July '07 A surge in activity!
In the past week or so, we have had a staggering 15 new members for the fanlist! Quite likely the fact that Eagle vs Shark has been showing in the USA is the reason...
This wonderful movie is also showing in the Wellington Film Festival, on the 21st and 23rd of July. Go to website for times and more information. Book now!
6th May '07 We're famous (well not really...)
A friend of mine recently had this site shown to her for examples of fanfiction (it's under the 'Goodies' link at the side if you're hankerin' for a good yarn) by her younger sister. After a few seconds she thought 'hang on, those names sound familiar' and later asked me about it... it's a small world after all.
In other news that is far more exciting than my poorly written anecdote, we have 2 new members on the fanlist, both called Bill. Go check it out!
12th March '07 NZ ham's it up for the oscars!
Taika Waititi's new film Eagle vs. Shark (featuring our very own Jemaine) was previewed at the New Zealand pre-Oscars party in LA last week... exciting stuff!
In other news, the BBC radio show of Flight of the Conchords is now available at the CD Store... and probably other music stores as well. And for a very reasonable price too!
9th January '07 Not much
Sadly, no new members to be reported as added to the fanlist.
On a happier note, National Radio is replaying the Conchords BBC radio show on weekdays, check out the National Radio website to find out the times.
10th November '06 Members...
More members added to the fanlist. So if you haven't added YOUR name yet, think about it.
11th October '06 Calling all New Zealand JemFans!
If you live in New Zealand, next Thursday the 19th of October at 9.30pm, TV3 is running a documentary on Flight of the Conchords at the South By Southwest music festival in Austin, Texas.
23rd September '06 New members... and front page news...
Those of you who read the Dominion Post will have probably seen the front-page spot the Conchords got a week or two ago... not too much new information for us but it certainly means they'll be busy for a while.
Plus, new members added to the fanlist!
10th July '06 Film festival!
For all those Wellington fans who haven't seen their Film Festival guides yet, Jemaine and Taika's short film 'What We Do in the Shadows...' is showing at the City Gallery, at 12.15pm and 1.45pm on Thursday 27 July and Monday 31 July. Exciting!
22nd June '06 Fans and films...
Good news for those fans in North America, according to my sources Miramax has acquired the rights to Jemaine's new film Eagle vs Shark in North America!
In other news, new fans added to the fanlist.
15th May '06 Pimpin' fo' Sony!
Congrats go out to FotC, who recently won a bronze award at the Sony Awards (in London) for that radio show they did for the BBC (which you can buy online at the BBC website if you feel so inclined). Yay!
29th April '06 FotC do 'Time'
According to their official website, FotC have been photographed for Time magazine. I'm not sure whether I heard this somewhere else and forgot to look into it or I read it on the site before and now have been pointed back to it by the fabulous Andy Calder. Whatever. It's cool.
For all of you out there who are on myspace.com.... the Conchords have their very own mayspace where they will accept anyone as a friend.. so far that's given them 3482 friends.
Anf finally, there have been about a bazillion new fans added to the fanlist. Sorry about the lack of consistent updates but, y'know, life is busy.
4th March '06 We finally find out What Jem does In The Shadows!
All new information thanks to the wonderful Andy, who always has his finger on the JemPulse...
New promotional picture/poster loaded about Jemaine's project 'What We Do In The Shadows', click here to see the project listing, and the poster will also be added to the gallery here soon.
FotC have been voted second best comedy act for 2005 by CanMag! Behind Dane Cook, but that's still awesome for our special boys.. check out the article here.
Plus, as usual, more members added to the fanlist.
19th February '06 Your mission, should you choose to accept it...
One of our good friends over here at Saint Clement's has started the process of getting Jemaine, his film Eagle vs. Shark and actor/producer Cliff Curtis listed on the Hollywood Stock Exchange (click here to read a little about it), but we need your help to show what a superstar Jemaine is! So if you've got the time to help us with our cause, read up a little bit, or join HSX, then email the person in charge of adding new Movies and Stars, and hopefully, with enough support for Jemaine, he'll get listed. Email me also if you'd like more info.
If you'd like a lovely fast download for the Outback Steakhouse commercials featuring Jem, click here to go to a happy fast place reccomended by our friend Andy.
As usual, we also have some new members on the fanlist.
9th February '06 Jemaine is famous... thanks to the Superbowl!
Thanks to all the people who wrote in to tell us about Jemaine appearing in two ads for Outback Steakhouses. Click on the link to go to their website and see the ads. Jemaine does an Aussie accent so no fears that all across the US the difference between Kiwi and Aussie accents will be blurred... they're also dead funny.
While you're there, check out the menu, with tasty treats such as Kookaburra Wings®, Walkabout Soup® O' The Day, Botany Bay Fish O' The Day, Cyclone Pasta, and for the kids, Mac A Roo 'N Cheese.
28th January '06 You fight like a baby... a dead baby...
As usual, we have another member on the fanlist, this time taking the total number of JemFans to 150!
We also have some new JemFic (Jem Fanfiction) called 'True Lies'. It's quite humorous, and is a must if you've read all of the other fanfiction on the site!
14th January '06 Happy new year!
We have a few new additions to the fanlist. And that's about all.
Also, this page has now got an archive because there was so much news... oh yay!
