Ebon Hawk Entry Cutscene Requirements The descriptions and comments have SPOILERS. You have been warned... Characters/settings/scripts belong to Obsidian/Lucasarts. All requirements taken from the script a_next_scene.ncs. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- i. Introduction Whenever you enter the Ebon Hawk, there's a chance you'll see one or more cutscenes between your party members. Whether or not you see any given cutscene depends on a number of factors: Which party members are around, what your influence is with each of them, how many planets you've been to, whether other events have happened yet... Almost all of the cutscenes can be seen in the game just by playing a certain way. For example, there are several cutscenes that require you to have more influence with Disciple than Atton. If, like me, you got a lot of influence with Atton before you even picked up Disciple, you'll probably never see those cutscenes - but they're still there. Instead of playing through again, you can see these cutscenes you missed just by editing one of your saved games. There are two cutscenes that, I think, you can only see by editing your save game: Atton playing Pazaak with T3-M4 (twice). There are also several cutscenes that you can't trigger even by editing your save game. After a cutscene ends, it may or may not look for more cutscenes that are ready to play. (All cutscenes call the script a_next_scene; those that pass in a parameter of 0 will look for more cutscenes, and those that pass in 1 will not.) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ii. Layout of the requirements list There are 47 cutscenes listed here. They are ordered based on the script, which isn't always a logical ordering. If you're looking for one in particular, it may be fastest to search for one of the participants' names. Here's one of the cutscenes: 40. CUT_T3_VS_HK47 Requirements: Available NPCs: T3-M4, HK-47 Global Booleans: CUT_T3_VS_HK47 = false Global Numbers: 003EBO_HK47_T3 = 0 Description: HK-47 talks to & gets zapped by T3-M4. Comments: In game. Cutscenes continue: No. What this means: This cutscene requires T3-M4 and HK-47 to be available. They don't have to be in your party, but if you go to the party selection screen they should show up there. The global boolean CUT_T3_VS_HK47 must be false, and the global number 003EBO_HK47_T3 must equal 0. See section iii. for how to set these. I give a (very brief) description of the cutscene, hopefully enough for you to tell if you've seen it before. These contain SPOILERS for the game! Under comments, I put whether I think you can see the cutscene just by playing through ("In game"). I haven't played all the way through with a male PC, plus my memory's not so great, so some of them I'm unsure of. Once this cutscene plays, no further cutscenes will play until you leave and re-enter the Ebon Hawk. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- iii. What to change, where to change it I use tk102's KotOR Savegame Editor (KSE). It's awesome. Go get it. :) http://www.starwarsknights.com/tools.php Oh, and I take no responsibility if this messes up your system or save games. I'm not sure how it could, but... if you're not sure what you're doing, make a copy of your saved game before you change it. Okay. Two things, if you're not familiar with the KSE: 1) Make sure when you're editing a saved game that you keep track of which one you're changing. I'm always opening the wrong one and wondering why my changes didn't take. Each game is listed something like this: "000008 - Game 7". If you expand that, at the top you'll see the "Savegame Name" - in my game, this is "Peragus leaving". Now, when you load this in KOTOR2, the load list says: "8 : Peragus leaving". Notice that's an 8, from the 000008, NOT a 7. Use the FIRST number given in KSE, or use the name. 2) After you make a change, hit the "apply" button. After you're finished making changes, hit the "commit changes" button. Wait for it to tell you the game saved before loading it up in KOTOR2. WHAT TO CHANGE, WHERE TO CHANGE IT Mostly you'll be changing global booleans, global numbers, and influence. GLOBALS Global booleans and numbers are found under "Globals". They are listed alphabetically, and there are a lot of them. Also, many of them have similar names, so make sure you change the right one. If the Requirements looks like this: Requirements: Available NPCs: T3-M4, Atton Global Booleans: CUT_ATTON_T3_PAZAAK_1 = false Global Numbers: 003EBO_ATTON_T3_START = 1 003EBO_T3_Pazaak = 0 You want to open the Globals node, open the Booleans node, and scroll down to CUT_ATTON_T3_PAZAAK_1. If it isn't false (or 0), select it and change it. Apply your changes. Scroll back up, close the Booleans node, and open the Numerics node. Scroll down to 003EBO_ATTON_T3_START. If it isn't 1, change it to 1 and apply your changes. Scroll down to 003EBO_T3_Pazaak. Make sure it's 0. Now, commit your changes, and load up the save game. Enter the Ebon Hawk and hopefully you'll see the cutscene. INFLUENCE Influence is tied to a specific NPC. The NPCs list is immediately above the Globals in KSE. If the Requirements say: Influence: T3-M4 >= 75 or T3-M4 <= 25 In KSE, open the NPCs node. Open the T3-M4 node. Influence is near the end. If it's already 75 or more, or 25 or less, you're set. Otherwise, change it, hit "apply", and then "commit changes". Sometimes the Requirements are for one NPC to have more influence than another. For example: Influence: Visas has at least 30 more influence than Handmaiden. In this case, you'll have to check both NPCs' influence. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- iv.
