1996-2002 doctoral research, under the supervision of Dr. A. R. Khuda Bukhsh, Professor of Zoology, Kalyani University. Statement of research specialization and interests:
I have broad research interests in the areas of:

i) Carcinogeneic study: Carcinogeneic study on mice, rats and human, Induction of hepatocarcinoma and skin papilloma in mice, ameliorative efficacy of chemo-preventive drugs (organo-selenium compounds), complementary and alternative medicines, matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) activity assay, mammalian (Lymphocyte) cell culture, biochemical toxicology, immunological study,  Apoptotic assay, Nitric Oxide synthatase, cyclooxygenase (COX)-2, study, in vitro study with different kinds of cell line.

ii) Toxicological study on human: Arsenic toxicity, antinuclear antibody (ANA), ds-DNA, scl-70  fetoprotein, Creatinine, GGT, study of arsenic affected human population.

iii) fish cytogenetics: cytotaxonomy/karyosystematics, chromosome evolution (especially of freshwater & marine groups), unisexual fish groups, fish genetic conservation, chromosome banding in lower vertebrates, fish molecular cytogenetics, fish biology, fisheries, enzymatic assay, genotoxicity study, in vivo and in vitro chromosome preparation of fish.
Genotoxicity testing protocols (applied on mice, human, fish): Chromosome aberration study, Micronucleus testing, Sperm head anomaly study, comet assay.

Biochemical studies (of mice, human, fish): enzymes [Acid phosphatase (AcP), Alkaline phosphatase (AlkP), Alanine aminotransferase (ALT), aspartate amino transferase (AST), Reduced glutathione (GSH), Lipid peroxidation (LPO), superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalase (CAT), glutatathione –s –transferase (GST)  etc.

Chromosome banding study: NOR-, C-, G- and Fluorescent banding (CMA3) on fish chromosome.

Scanning Electron Microscopy study (fish chromosome, mice): a) The Nucleolus Organizer regions of fish chromosome study, by SEM. b) Use of SEM to study induced hepatocarcinogenesis in mice.
