Janet Green - Artist

Janet is an award-winning artist who works in multi-media.  She has an all level degree in art education from the University of Houston and attributes her interest in many medias to her years of teaching art to grades five through high school.

Her work has been in many juried exhibitions including Bayou City Art Festival, Houston International Festival, Salado Art Festival, Texas Renaissance Festival and many festivals in Austin and San Antonio, as well as the Louisiana Renaissance Festival.

Her work is in private collections in both Wales and England in the UK, Canada, China, and many other private collections throughout the United States.

She has always enjoyed incorporating texture into her drawings and paintings and has developed a bas-relief technique in which she is able to create texture and forms with her palette knives.  Janet then uses paint and glazes to enhance her bas-relief sculptures to give her painting a unique feeling of depth.

Janet makes unique original jewelry using wire and semi-precious gemstones to create one of a kind pieces of wearable art.

Janet still enjoys exploring watercolor, oil, pen and ink, and metal embossing and combines these media into unique mixed media works.
