Watercolor Varieties
I would like to share with you what has been my passion for the last 25 years.  I started painting in watercolor back in 1977 after we retired and moved to the Bahamas and then to Panama.   I invite you to come into my galleries and explore with me the things that have inspired me.  Please click on the pictures.
We have lived in lots of different places over the last 25 years, not to mention traveling, and I have been able to choose subjects that have intrigued me.  I am inspired by light and reflections.  The scene below is something I saw when we went to Isreal a few years ago.  The light was shining through the trees and was  reflecting onto the little pond beside a stream. It was so beautiful that I just had to paint it.
I use Winsor and Newton paints from the tube on 140 lb. Arches Watercolor Paper.   I have a variety of subjects that I like to paint; still life, flowers, seascapes, house commissions, landscapes,  portraits of children and animals.  So far, from the animal world,  I have painted cats, dogs, birds  and horses.
Watercolor tip
When I begin my paintings I always start out with a wet on wet wash underpainting using the three  colors red, yellow and blue.  It doesn't look like much at first but the end result never ceases to astound me.

Art seems to run in my family.  I have always loved to paint and draw.  There are several members in our family who make a living as artists and we were encouraged by our parents to pursue our interests in the arts.
