BANDITS ON THE RUN IN HOUSTON
by Julia Marikham,
Chief JRT Correspondent
Even though plagued by bad weather, traffic jams and closed exits, The Birmingham Bandits descended on the unsuspecting Texas town of Houston for the Let Freedom Run Tourney at The Reliant Showcase of Dogs.    Flyball tourneys vary in so many ways.  LSR has their own style that always means BIG fun.

The A-team had several dogs competing in agility as well as flyball.  But they still managed to walk away with a first in their division winning every single race but one in 2 days of lane time.   After such a great showing in St. Louis and Houston, the team is excited to start thinking new seed times.  Also big news for the A-team was reaching the 10,000 point mark for Dazzle, the only dog with an FMX on the team.

The B-team dogs, aka the newbies, showed huge improvement.  Even though one of their height dogs was doing agility as well, they managed to turn in their frst 25 point runs in 2 heats.

A special award was given to Jenny McRoy for the team contest of Guess the Number of Rollers in Barb's Hair.  Animal Planet got a flattering shot with her hair accented in pink and green while filming life in the crating area.  If you watch TV much you may get a glimpse of her in total adornment around October.  Gage, the ball shager and Barb's grandson, was kind enough to get the actual count for the team members.

Only 1 gate keeper was injured despite the fact The Reliant Center wasn't honoring parking passes.  An eye witness reported the assailant had pink and green hair.
