TIME TRAVELER

it's not a world of the visionary that he 
currently occupies 
but something else 
tenuous/ held together by slender threads 
but he's here whether he knows it or not 
in a world of total dreams and intoxications 
conventional reality put on hold 
tucked away in some syncture 
out of sight/ out of mind

is escape into somebody else's past the solution 
to the problem of being alive today in the 21st 
century  with all the high tech problems that 
only this century can know of?

where would you like to go? 
the choices are endless

perhaps some place in colorado watching wagon 
trains trudge toward oregon 
when life gas more demanding on the total person 
unlike today where bodies are flabby or too thin 
and the mind set tends more toward consensus 
and less on dissent

you can't say the early pioneers were indifferent to 
the forces of fate acting upon them/ 
everything das a resource wisely used because 
waste was not possible
they were people of quality and fiercely independent

does that appeal to you? 
if so, then go
you can live through it well enough without 
moving from this room

such is the power of dreaming and surrogate reality 
surrogate, but real in and of itself 
inherent with its own logic

out of sync
far from the norm
you're on your own good trip in a benevolent zone 
of existence
which now that you think of it 
blends the opposites of being here 
and being there ...
