Here is a brief introduction of each of the members of Jamrock Reggae Band.
Carl Baxter- Vocals. Carl "Sta-Youth" Baxter is from the town of Harbour View, Kingston, Jamaica. Carl has been with the band from its inception, and is the main vocalist in the group. In addition, he also handles booking and logistical arrangements for the group.
Gerald Mulvaney- Vocals. Gerald "Dusty" Mulvaney is from AlmanTown in Kingston, Jamaica. He is also an original member of the band and provides an unusual vocal element in reggae- bass vocals. That vocal range  provides a different interpretation of some of the reggae songs performed. Gerald also handles logistical and booking arrangements for the band.
Dean Irwin- Bass. The last original member in the group, Dean "Minister" Irwin is from Four Paths in Clarendon, Jamaica. He is the only "country bwoy" in the group. Dean is a self-taught bassist who first played bass in the high school band. He did some some studio and live work while attending graduate school and then started playing with Jamrock when he came back to NC. Dean handles sound system setup and mixing for the band.
Ken Josephs- Drums. Ken has extensive live & recording experience in several genres of music, playing with the likes of Culture, Gregory Issacs and Mojonya, to name a few. He hails from Trinidad & Tobago. He has expanded the sound of the band with his playing, which can only be described as effortless and expressive. We utilize his extensive touring experience to enhance our sound and stage performances.
Neal Boyke- Keyboards. Neal also hails from Trinidad. A recent transplant from Connecticut, Neal also has touring experience with Judy Mowatt (I-Threes) and several Connecticut bands. Neal provides assistance with selection arrangements.
Sylvester Percival- Keyboards. Also goes by the name "Sly". Sly is from St. Kitts, and was the original keyboardist when Jamrock was founded. Sly is classically trained but is widely versed in several genres of music.
Brian Best- Guitar. Brian is the newest member of the band, having joined us last year. Brian has extensive reggae experience having played with bands in Wilmington and Hawaii. Brian's design experience is helping the band develop clothing and accessories.
Colin McEwan- DJ/Manager. Colinhas assumed the managerial role for the band. He is the point of contact for bookings and also provides assistance in running the sound system, PLUS, he also provides DJ services in associationwith band performances.
