| As you can see, we have had good success keeping some "hard to keep" species. We credit this to a couple of simple principles that, through our experience, works well. We've documented the Moorish Idol's success on a separate page. The cleaner wrasse we've had for over 4 years, along with the Imperator are doing well due to the following simply rules: great water quality, varied diet with vitamins (brine shrimp, flake and blood worms is NOT a varied diet), appropriate sized tank, animals introduced in the proper order (least aggressive to most aggressive) and most importantly all the fish were obtained as small juveniles. Juveniles, especially fish that don't traditionally adapt well (ie. cleaner wrasses), have a much better chance of surviving in captivity as dietary dependencies haven't been fully established. Leave the adults in the ocean to reproduce...... | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
